We are seeking a full-time Solar Installation Technician to assist and participate in the physical installation of residential solar roof and ground mounted arrays. This position will consist of minimum, 30-40 hour work weeks.

What You'll Do In This Job:

• Carry modules up a ladder

• Setting up/installing racking system on roof

• Setting modules to racking

• Running conduit in attics and crawlspaces

• Pulling wire in conduit, and more.

Must Haves:

• General construction knowledge and/or experience along with the ability to use hand tools (drills, saws, drivers). SOLAR INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

• Ability to work at high heights with the use of a safety harness, outdoors, in attics and crawlspaces in extreme conditions.

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds up and down a ladder

• Excellent communication and team working skills

• A four year degree in a relevant electrical/renewable energy field is preferred, but not required.

• High school diploma is required.

Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (5) full-time Solar Installation Technicians. The Solar Installation Technician will provide physical and general labor to solar panel system projects, along with various other construction, mechanical and industrial projects. This position requires mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of industrial electrical practices. Other projects may involve, but not be limited to the following industries: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, etc.

The Solar Installation Technician will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work. Candidates must be willing to work extended hours to include: weekends, holidays, evenings and possible night shift. Areas of operations include, but are not limited to: MD, VA, PA, WV, and OH.

The Solar Installation Technician will be assigned to the Solar Services Group of the Beitzel Corporation Field Services Division.
+ Install mechanical and electrical components of a solar energy system

+ Verify job components prepared for a specific job

+ Run conduit and cables from solar panels to combiner boxes

+ Layout and construct solar modules/arrays and mounting hardware

+ Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment

+ Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)

+ Familiarity working at heights (100% tie-off)

+ Provide communication with Project Managers to ensure work is performed according to specifications

+ Complete appropriate forms, reports and other required paperwork

+ Analyze project requirements and perform to meet deadlines

+ Provide technical support and on-site troubleshooting and repair for customers

+ Operate machinery such as but not limited to: forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, and dozers

+ Filling out daily JSA and performing safe work habits and reinforcing safety to all team members

+ Responding to phone calls and texts after hours and on weekends within a timely manner

+ Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and assist in site preparation and clean up

+ Maintain company tools and vehicle in excellent condition

+ Other duties as assigned

+ Valid driver's license required

+ 2+ years of construction experience with all areas of solar panels and solar systems installation preferred

+ Basic equipment operator experience preferred (forklift/telehandler)

+ Skilled equipment operator experience a plus (pile driver/excavator)

+ OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred

+ Ability to efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals

+ Ability to read or follow drawings, blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures

+ Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments

+ Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment

+ Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with customers, with an aptitude to answer technical questions in a simplified manner

+ Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs including possible emergency call-out, extended hours and out-of-town and overnight work

+ Able to work in extreme environments (heat, snow, rain, wind, etc.)

+ Willing to participate in the company's required background and drug screening process
