A day in the life of the Field Operations Technician 1 will include, but is not limited to:
Listen, collaborate, and apply advanced troubleshooting ability, take direct instruction from the Senior Technicians, and support the team at solar+battery facilities at Oahu (main island) and other sites currently under construction in performing preventative & corrective maintenance and supporting ongoing construction activities. Build and be part of a motivated TEAM of technicians with the Team Leader to troubleshoot and repair all equipment at the facility safely and proactively. The equipment to learn and maintain includes PV solar modules, PV arrays, inverters, and battery energy storage system (BESS battery containers). Candidates must communicate well, use computers in the field, and bring a TEAM together and earn trust. Communicate effectively to solve complex issues with the site team. Work daily to ensure that all equipment is operating to maximum efficiency to keep our customers' grid stable for power to the local communities. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of AC and DC electrical systems of varying types and voltages - especially experience working with PV solar systems and substations (MV/HV). This position will be based onsite at West Oahu solar+battery Facility on Oahu. Some remote work will be required in the support of the Hawaii region, and other sites that are under construction.
Key Responsibilities

Assist and ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels-initiate re-order of consumables and spare parts as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS
A SolarTechnician II will be required to work under the following conditions:
May be required to travel up to 50% of the time
Required to work more than 90% of the time in the field performing Preventive and Corrective Maintenances

* Perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet from ground level, as necessary.
* Participate in after-hours / emergency on call rotation
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED is required.
* 2+ years of related work experience required.
* Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
* Knowledge of NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96 is required.
* Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, is required.
* Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding and scissors or articulating lifts is required.
* Valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
* Ability to obtain all necessary certifications is required.
* Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.
* Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
