Senior Software Architect
Solutions architect job in Alpharetta, GA
We're looking for a Software Architect to lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of a modern product platform from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys ambiguity, and knows how to turn a blank whiteboard into a scalable, production-ready system.
You'll partner closely with founders, product leaders, and engineering teams to design systems that move fast today and scale intelligently tomorrow.
Base Salary + Equity
What You'll Do
Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture across web, mobile, backend, and cloud infrastructure
Lead greenfield development: technology selection, architectural patterns, and system design decisions
Translate business vision and product strategy into scalable, secure, and resilient technical solutions
Establish engineering standards: code quality, performance, security, testing, and observability
Act as a technical leader and mentor-raising the bar for the entire engineering organization
Balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity (no ivory towers here)
Guide build vs. buy decisions and manage technical debt proactively
Collaborate with Product and Design to ensure architecture supports rapid iteration and user experience
Support hiring decisions and help shape the engineering culture as the company grows
Ideal Technical Background
Frontend: React, TypeScript, modern state management and design systems
Mobile: React Native (iOS & Android), Expo or bare RN, mobile performance considerations
Backend: Node.js (NestJS/Express) and/or Python (FastAPI), REST and/or GraphQL
Data: PostgreSQL, Redis; strong data modeling and migration strategies
Cloud & DevOps: AWS or GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform a plus)
Architecture: Event-driven systems, microservices (when appropriate), monorepos, API-first design
Observability: Logging, monitoring, alerting (Sentry, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
What We're Looking For
8+ years of engineering experience with architectural ownership of production systems
Proven success building platforms from scratch in startup or high-growth environments
Strong opinions, loosely held-you can defend architectural decisions but adapt when reality changes
Deep understanding of system design tradeoffs, scalability, security, and performance
Comfortable leading without ego-able to influence, mentor, and align teams
Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and executives
Hands-on mindset: you design it, you help build it
Startup DNA You'll thrive here if you:
Enjoy zero-to-one builds and shaping vision, not inheriting legacy systems
Can move fast without breaking trust or production
Think like an owner and optimize for outcomes, not just elegance
Know when “good enough” today enables “great” tomorrow
What Success Looks Like?
A clear, well-communicated technical vision that scales with the business
An architecture that accelerates-not blocks-product development
An engineering team aligned around standards, patterns, and purpose
A platform that's resilient, secure, and ready for growth
