Safety/Health/Environment:
It is required of the Mechanical Engineering Intern to be responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of others at all times.
Adhere to all applicable EH&S regulations and Engineering Standards.
Participate as needed in safety audits, incident investigations, PHA/HAZOP studies. Ensure company and statutory EHS standards are maintained, including Responsible Care.

Main Activities:
Cable Tray/Bus Takeoffs. Respond to customer request for detailed takeoffs for electrical construction projects. Develop bill of materials for sales team and interface with customers and sales team with questions and suggestions.
Custom Product Design. Work directly with end users or in coordination with EWS sales team to understand non-standard customer needs (typically project based). Modify standard product offering to quickly and cost effectively meet the customer needs. Provide detailed submittal drawings for projects utilizing non-standard products.
Support Sales Team with Technical Assistance
Manage large and complex project
Participate in cross-functional Kaizen improvement teams as needed.
Maintains Cablofil drafting standards in accordance with basic industry drafting and engineering standards.
Assists with the development and maintenance of the parts catalog(s), website, submittals, instruction sheets and operation manual(s) for the assigned products.
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education: Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS in Electrical Engineering, Associates of Science/Technology or Construction Management
Experience: Related course work
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Preferred experience in SolidWorks and Microsoft office suite.
Must have good mechanical skills. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently summarize information in an effective manner. Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
