The APC Consultant will be responsible for implementing online control and optimization strategies at customer manufacturing locations, using Schneider Electric's APC software technology. The deployments will normally take the form of 3 to 6 month project assignments, during which up to 50% of the consultant's time may be spent at site. Project locations will typically be in North America but may also be global. The industries concerned will span the entire process sector: from oil refining and petrochemicals to power generation, pulp and paper, and food and beverage.
The purpose of the role is to help customers achieve real operational benefits by implementing high-performance control and optimization strategies:
Increased production yield;
Reduced energy consumption;
Improved environmental compliance.
Usually working as Schneider Electric's sole representative at site, the consultant will analyze customer requirements and develop solutions that will meet or exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

Support of the Sales function: presentations to potential customers, performance of Benefit Studies, preparation of business case, project estimations, and proposal documents.
Take on new initiatives and work on innovative solutions to grow our business.
Technical support of existing customers: respond to support requests by e‑mail and/or telephone, analyze the nature of the problem, and assist customers to find a resolution. This activity is mainly office‑based but may require travel to customer sites.
Participate in technology development activities: software testing, report faults encountered during use, identify and suggest potential improvements.
Engage in the wider Control Engineering community: represent Schneider Electric at technical conferences, present technical papers, and increase personal and company profile within this sphere.
Although focused on APC, become familiar with the wider Schneider Electric DCS and AVEVA Optimization portfolio.
Travel: 50% travel, sometimes more, mostly U.S. customer sites.
Skills and Qualifications
Chemical, Control, or Electrical Engineering degree.
8+ years of industrial experience in the process sector.
Extensive experience with Advanced Process Control software such as EcoStruxure Advanced Process Control (former AVEVA APC), Aspen DMC, Honeywell Forge Advanced Process Control, Yokogawa PACE, and similar.
Knowledge of modeling dynamic processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional team to understand issues and drive the root cause for each issue to achieve a stable high volume mass production products.
Create and analyze statistically designed experiments to effectively evaluate process corners to identify major risks and ensure margin for high volume applications.
Develop and implement techniques for gathering and analyzing large data sets to identify currently unknown relationships between in-line metrics and final device performance.

What You'll Be Doing
You will play a key role in developing the world's first continuous fuel cycle for commercial fusion energy. This position focuses on building and applying advanced process modeling and simulation capabilities to support fuel cycle process design and system integration. You'll work closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians across the company, with a focus on scaling up and integrating these systems into our commercial fusion platform. You will report to the Fuel Cycle Manager and work onsite at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
Develop and maintain in-house process simulation capabilities, including property libraries and sub-models for key unit operations
Own fuel cycle process architecture and flowsheet design using steady-state and dynamic simulations to guide equipment sizing and system configuration
Validate and refine simulation models using data from pilot-scale operations to improve model fidelity and predictive accuracy
Support detailed design and specification of process components such as separation columns, catalyst beds, membranes, heaters, pumps, and cryogenic or vacuum systems
Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including process design bases, PFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs, simulation results, sensitivity analyses, technical reports, and cost evaluations
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement and test process designs
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent experience with strong fundamentals in processengineering

Provides technical support for planned shutdowns, adsorbent bed changeouts, vessel inspections, and valve overhauls
Writes and maintains maintenance procedures and best practices for startup, shutdown, and upset recovery
Troubleshoots process issues including breakthrough events, purity excursions, cycle instability, valve leakage, and bed saturation
Works closely with operations to adjust process parameters and ensure compliance with product specifications
Evaluates adsorbent media performance and recommends upgrades or configuration changes
Develops dashboards and KPI tracking tools for recovery efficiency, downtime, and cycle deviation alarms
Prepares monthly reliability reports and leads cross-functional reliability review meetings
Supports equipment design, modifications, and upgrades related to PSA systems, valves, controls, and instrumentation
Reviews P&IDs, control logic, simulations, and vendor documentation for reliability implications
Collaborates with operations, HSE, and OEM suppliers to implement long-term reliability improvements
ProcessEngineer Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ProcessEngineering, or a related technical discipline
3-8+ years of experience supporting PSA systems, gas separation technologies, or natural gas processing equipment
Hands-on experience with reliability engineering tools including FMEA, RCFA, and Weibull analysis
Proven experience leading root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions
