Responsibilities Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Leadership

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Facility Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 10 years of reliability, maintenance, or operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or similar reliability-centered maintenance systems.

About the Role:

The MIG Gun Division (Bernard / Tregaskiss) of Miller Electric, an ITW Company, is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our world-classteam. This onsite position is located in Beecher, IL, USA. The Quality Engineer ensures products and processes meet established standards and requirements. In this role, you will develop and implement quality control systems, conduct audits, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues to improve product quality and efficiency.
How you will make an impact:
Developing and implementing quality control systems:
Creating procedures, setting standards, and establishing metrics for evaluating product quality.
Define Quality controls for the Manufacturing Processes and maintain registers of quality controls for audit processes
Supervise the calibration system. Design and implement new fixtures and gauges needed for the inspection process.
Implement Standard Operating Procedures, training material, and visual support for Manufacturing Processes to facilitate operations
Auditing parts and production processes:
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with work instructions, quality specifications, and SOPs.
Responsible for reviewing and approving all supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Responsible for performing first article inspections.
Analyzing data and identifying issues:
Track quality complaints and non-conformances. Identify trends and opportunities.
Show improvement in overall quality through reduction in complaints, non-conformances, improvement in customer satisfaction, etc.
Support day to day production identifying and addressing quality issues both assembly and supplier related.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving:
Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and addressing quality complaints and compliance.
Issue non-conformances (SCAR - CAR) - both internally and with outside vendors. Place materials on hold as needed.
Conduct root cause analyses utilizing standard tools (i.e fish bone diagram, 5 whys, 8Ds) for quality and operational issues, implementing corrective actions. Follow up to determine if corrective actions have been effective.
Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards:
Lead ISO 9001:2015 efforts across the organization. This includes annual ISO audits, annual Quality Operations Procedure audits, annual cross divisional audits and management review meetings.
Support materials team with vendor audit program, attending and conducting audits with our top suppliers when required.
Continuous improvement:
Measure and continuously eliminate waste from the manufacturing process by implementing ITW Tool Box (Lean Practices).
Fully involved in CBI (customer back innovation) process for new product development and launch; including but not limited to PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Design for Manufacturability, etc.

Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent required

Computer proficiency includes Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic 365 CRM (D365) is a plus.

Job Summary:

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years in a lead role in the manufacturing environment. Proven record of successful launch as it relates to new process introduction and planning efficient manufacturing processes.
Proven record of leading cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong 3D CAD skills, at least 2,000 hours of experience on Solidworks
Strong drafting and GD&T skills with the ability to perform tolerance stack up analysis.
Green Belt / Lean Manufacturing Certification Desired
Knowledge of magnetic materials and applications a plus.

Process Engineer - Grinding Processes & Machine Industrialization
This specialized Process Engineer position focuses on the development, optimization, and industrialization of grinding processes for compressor blades, turbine blades, and turbine shrouds within MTU Maintenance's engine overhaul operations. The role ensures precision, efficiency, and compliance in grinding operations while driving the implementation of advanced machinery and automation solutions. The engineer will collaborate closely with production teams, OEMs, and equipment suppliers to establish robust processes that meet stringent aerospace standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Lead grinding process development for compressor and turbine blades, as well as turbine shrouds, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications and aviation standards.
* Industrialize grinding machines and equipment, including defining technical requirements, supporting procurement, and overseeing installation and commissioning.
* Optimize grinding parameters to achieve high precision, surface quality, and dimensional accuracy while minimizing cycle times.
* Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and process documentation for grinding operations across MTU's global network.
* Collaborate with OEMs and suppliers to validate new technologies and integrate best practices.
* Drive automation and digitalization initiatives in grinding processes, including CNC programming and potential AI/RPA applications.
* Support production during operational disruptions, providing technical troubleshooting and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
* Conduct capability studies, risk assessments, and continuous improvement projects to enhance process stability and cost-effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with MTU quality methodologies and participate in internal/external audits.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
* Proven experience in grinding processes within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of CNC grinding machines, tooling, and fixturing concepts.
* Familiarity with OEM manuals and aviation quality standards desireable.
* Experience in industrialization projects, including equipment specification and supplier management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work in international teams.
