In 2018, Andy Platz became CEO of Mead & Hunt, one of the nation's leading architecture and engineering firms. Mead & Hunt is ranked as one of the top 200 consulting firms in the country. The company is also named among the top 25 best civil engineering firms to work for in the country by CE News. Mead & Hunt currently holds over 30 offices nationwide and employs over 650 people. Andy joined Mead & Hunt in 1985 upon his graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His own career developed in conjunction with the growth of Mead & Hunt. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Group Leader for Aviation Services at a young age. The Aviation Services Group expanded exponentially under Andy’s leadership - he took the group coast to coast, growing the firm’s Aviation Services. In 2011, Andy was selected as Mead & Hunt’s President. He still holds that role today. As Andy moves forward, the values that have served him as a Group Leader and engineer will continue to inform his leadership. He places tremendous value on client relationships, and this focus has played a huge part in his success within the industry. Moving forward, Andy will continue to focus on building strong, mutually beneficial client relationships. In addition, he will be steadfast in offering employees the opportunity for growth. Nate Beil, PE, D.WRE, joined KCI Technologies Inc. in 1988. Within four years, he started the company’s Water Resources Division, which became one of KCI’s top-performing business units. From 1995 to 2001, Nate served as head of KCI’s Environmental Group, and in 2001 he was promoted to manager of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic region. He has served as president of KCI since 2006 and assumed the role of CEO in 2018. Nate earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Lehigh University. He has also completed the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Senior Executive Institute, and the Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Nate serves on the executive committee of The Design Professionals Coalition (DPC) and is the past chair of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Lehigh University’s Masters of Structural Engineering Advisory Board as well as the board of directors for MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. Nate is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Water Resources Association (AWRA) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
