Job Summary The Test Lab Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers concerned with one or more of the following activities: testing electrical safety equipment, repairing power and hand tools, assembling ground and jumper sets, building rope assemblies, ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and repair parts in test lab or tool repair center by performing the following duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Advise and instruct subordinates in all aspects of work and in the safe operation of the equipment and machinery necessary for this position. * Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and procedures. * Monitor backlog, prioritizes orders, and expedites workflow as required. * Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. * Review documentation for accuracy, legibility, completeness, and conformance to established procedures. * Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. Possess working knowledge of material involved in the position and their uses. * Ensure equipment is maintained in safe and proper working condition. Resolve or advise manager of maintenance or operational issues. * Assist manager in evaluating inventory usage and makes recommendations to optimize inventory levels. * Research history of inventory items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. * Study inventory history and recommend actions to eliminate non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock. * Determine disposition of used or damaged property and handles accordingly. * Analyze operational activities to identify inefficiencies.
