Cardiac Sonographer - Travel Assignment Facility Type: Outpatient / Primary Care Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM License needed: RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI), and BLS certification. Pay: $2,600 - $3,300+/week

Performs ultrasound procedures on patients to include, but not limited to; Pediatric specific exams, adult general, gynecological, and vascular. Provides patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards; and performs administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records, as needed. Essential Responsibilities: This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly. Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to produce images of specified areas of the body in accordance with Radiologists instructions, and using knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures, anatomical and pathological relationships, and the contour and composition of the body. Makes members/patients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions. Considers how actions or plans will affect members; responds quickly to meet member/patient needs. Courteously instructs patients and family members regarding preparation for examination; explains procedures to be performed. Positions patients to obtain desired images in accordance with physicians instructions and using knowledge of human anatomy. Monitors images and identifies anatomical structures. Makes necessary adjustments to obtain optimal images. Labels images as appropriate. Operates and maintains image recording equipment. Instructs patient, in a courteous manner, regarding imaging procedures. Positions patients and operates imaging equipment following established practice guidelines. Reviews images for accuracy and technical quality according to established standards. Submits images for interpretation by radiologist or designee. Practices ALARA principles. Assists with procedures such as interventional procedures, provides patient education; obtains informed consent as needed. Practices sterile techniques and standard precautions. Follows established quality assurance/quality control program. monitoring the operating condition of the equipment and accessories. Promptly reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Maintains inventory of supplies, according to established levels. Communicates clearly, effectively and appropriately both verbally and with written communication. Demonstrates courteous and appropriate telephone skills. Considers the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process in delivery of services to patients in the age group served. POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE: Neonate - 30 days. Infancy -30 days to 1 yr. Toddlers - 1 yr. to 3 yrs. Pre-schoolers- 3yrs. to 5 yrs. School age - 5 yrs. to 13 yrs. Adolescent - 13 yrs. to 18 yrs. As a Sonographer you need to know how to: Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam. Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation. Job Description IVIRMA North America network of state-of-the-art fertility practices in the United States, is currently seeking a SONOGRAPHER/Ultrasound Technician to join our growing Lafayette practice! Hours will be 4 days a week, 7am-4:30pm. Job Purpose: The Sonographer is responsible for providing detailed ultrasound imaging of the female reproductive system to help identify the causes of infertility and to guide fertility treatments. Essential Functions and Accountabilities: Collaborates with physicians, other medical providers, and patients by providing expert care and service for fertility treatments Establishes personal rapport with patients Provides explanations of procedures Performs detailed sonographic examinations of female reproductive systems and identifies abnormalities Responsible for generating and documenting ultrasound reports for physician interpretation Procedure set-up, following all sterile precautions. Performs and provides explanations of procedures, including Sonohysterograms, FemVue, and Ultrasound guidance for embryo transfers Tracks fetal growth and development up to 9 weeks gestational age Maintains ultrasound equipment Orders ultrasound supplies and keeps rooms stocked Travel to other Company locations as needed Rotating holiday and weekend shift coverage Academic Training: Completion of formal Ultrasound training - required ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialization - required within 90 days of hire Current BLS Certification - required within 60 days of hire Position Requirements/Experience: Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility - preferred 2- 4 years of experience as an ultrasound technologist - preferred Technical Skills: Ability to effectively operate all pieces of equipment utilized within the scope of this job.
