Assists in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care. Rotates on on-call schedule covering off hours and weekend rotation. Performs pediatric echocardiography, if experienced. Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a graduate of a medical diagnostic ultrasound program or other allied health profession or possess equivalent training. New graduates: Registry-eligible and must sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within first year of employment or within first year of eligibility. Pass the registry exam from either the ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS). CPR certification. Schedule: 32 hours over two weeks Day shift - Saturdays/Sundays () Holiday rotation no call. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for working knowledge, operation and maintenance of all ultrasound related equipment, performance of ultrasound studies to demonstrate various organs of the body and recording these images in the standard formats for diagnosis by a physician.
