Role Description
This on-site part time, based in Fairfax, VA, involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to support fertility and reproductive healthcare. Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, capturing accurate images, and providing preliminary findings to healthcare providers. Assisting physicians with IUI's, transfers, biopsies, and other duties. Qualifications
Proficiency in diagnostic imaging techniques, including Medicine, Radiology, and Vascular ultrasound
Registration or eligibility for certification with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing ultrasound procedures

Perform limited abdominal ultrasonography (i.e., gall bladder, aorta, renal) in 30 minutes of less.
Responsible for refurbishing supplies in treatment rooms.
Perform all quality control as required.
Wears appropriate exposure-monitoring devices at all times when in the radiology department.
Assist in the transporting of patients.
Upon leaving the department, ensures all equipment is properly shut off.

What qualifications you will need: Education
Graduate of program in Ultrasound Technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education, experience, and training.
Licensure
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (preferred) or completion of registry within one year of employment.
Certification
BLS Certification through American Red Cross (AHA and military certifications accepted) required upon hire.

Qualifications
Purpose & Scope:
Will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease.
Education:
An associate degree in radiological procedure is required.
Experience:
One year of sonography experience is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required.

This role involves performing high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations while ensuring a professional, comforting, and patient-centered experience. The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment, capturing accurate diagnostic images, and supporting physicians with timely and precise reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
Calibrate, maintain, and operate ultrasound equipment.
Perform OB, anatomy, growth ultrasounds, and biophysical profiles.
Conduct Doppler studies and cervical length measurements.
Perform GYN scans, including saline-infused sonohysterograms.
Capture clear sonogram images and video for physician review.
Immediately notify physicians of any abnormalities or areas of concern.
Accurately chart ultrasound results.
Provide reassurance and support to nervous or anxious patients.
Manage patient flow by seeing patients on time and rescheduling when needed.
Maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled work hours.
Avoid commenting on scan interpretations unless directed by a physician.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
Current ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty required.
Prior OB/GYN ultrasound experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a sonographer preferred.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Clear and professional communication skills with patients and healthcare staff.
