Ultrasound Technician Responsibilities Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated, and functioning properly before each use. Review images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary to capture the required views. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers by providing preliminary observations and assisting in image interpretation when needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technology program. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential. Valid state licensure or certification as required by the employing facility or jurisdiction. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound imaging. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specialized ultrasound procedures such as vascular, obstetric, or cardiac sonography. Additional certifications in specialty areas (e.g., Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)). Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and image archiving software. Prior experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting. Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse patient populations.
