What You'll Do
Reports to the Imaging Supervisor, performs ultrasound procedures and other related functions in the daily operation of the Radiology Department. The technologist is under the direction of the department supervisor, physicians and administrator and ensures quality patient care is provided.
Performs all ultrasound examinations according to department protocols, policies and procedures while ensuring appropriate and quality care by:
* Obtaining pertinent clinical history for the reading radiologist, communicating with referring physicians and other healthcare personnel and providing phone reports, when indicated.
* Explaining and including the patient in their procedure.
* Preparing images on PACS.
* Accurately entering orders and completing associated worksheets or reporting template for the reading radiologist.
* Applying the appropriate charges.
Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department:
* Maintains ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification
* Orients new staff and students to work areas upon request.
* Accurately badges daily clocking-ins, PTO, holidays and call (or timely completion of add-clocking in Active Staffer).

A Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer is a diagnostic ultrasound professional who is qualified to perform independent sonographic assessments of maternal-fetal conditions. A person in this role must be qualified by academic and clinical experience, along with professional credentialing which should include OB/GYN registry, as well as the nuchal translucency/nasal bone certification. Their responsibility is to provide diagnostic patient care services for routine and high-risk obstetrical cases using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. A MFM sonographer must have advanced knowledge in various fetal conditions and anomalies as well as knowledge of contributing high-risk maternal factors. In addition, the scope of practice of the diagnostic MFM sonographer includes those procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience. This person must demonstrate competency and must hold the appropriate ARDMS certification(s), which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.

Prepare and position patients for ultrasound exams, selecting appropriate transducers and machine settings based on the physician's request.
Conduct obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations following department protocols, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnoses.
Gather and record relevant clinical information from referring physicians and patient interviews, relaying details to the radiologist as needed.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must hold the following credentials: Register Vascular Tech, Register Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
