Assists radiologist and/or other physicians in performing invasive diagnostic techniques such as biopsies, aspirations and intraoperative localization of lesions, or other similar Recognize anatomic variants and determine which other area(s) of the body should be scanned. Use a detailed understanding of diseases of anatomy to accomplish effective ultrasound Advise the physician of results of the examination and provide them with a preliminary Notify physician of significant scans requiring immediate Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment on a regular basis in accordance with department Stock and maintain an adequate level of supplies required to ultrasound Make minor adjustments on equipment. Differentiate artifacts from normal or pathological processes and recognize electronic equipment Program the examination equipment, set up the machine and scanning techniques to be employed. Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory Perform administrative duties to include but not limited to: print ultrasound work schedules/arrive/depart patients; answer phone/schedule patients for exams; utilize applicable Electronic Health Records systems. Participate in cross- training activities within the department. Leads the Diagnostic Sonography training platform with training and student assessments. Qualifications * Education: Graduation from a radiologic technologist-training program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiological Education (JCERT). Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) An associate's degree or higher in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography field highly desired. * Experience: Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in mammography, to include performing tomography mammograms or required performance of 200 exams with the last two (2) years.
