Position Summary:
The Cardiovascular Sonographer II Echocardiographer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care. This position is responsible for independently performing comprehensive echocardiographic studies using multiple imaging modalities to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. What You'll Do:
Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations in accordance with departmental standards and IAC protocols
Independently conduct advanced echo procedures, including:
Imaging enhancement agents
Saline contrast (bubble studies)
Portable and stress echocardiograms
Strain imaging
Assisting with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures
Accurately document patient data and exam results using the electronic information management system
Ensure proper documentation and billing compliance for all procedures performed
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
Serve as a resource for learning by assisting with the orientation and training of students and team members
Provide patient-focused care with clear communication and sound clinical judgment

Education:Graduated from an accredited cardiovascular technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.
Experience:Minimum of 2 years' experience in cardiac ultrasound or dual registered, proficient in echo and vascular.

As a PRN Ultrasound Technologist, you are responsible for performing diagnostic images for medical interpretation through use of multi-frequency sound waves. They will identify normal and abnormal imaging results, communicating a summary of the results to physicians or other health professionals. This position is held accountable for performing the correct US exams and producing high quality diagnostic images, while maintaining proficiency and complying with company policies and procedures. The US technologist will independently perform or assist a licensed practitioner in the completion of diagnostic exams (and invasive procedures if applicable). The role will require flexibility with availability as a per-diem technologist, responding promptly to requests for coverage due to absences or vacations, and covering at minimum one shift in a 30 day period.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Administer high frequency sound waves to a patient to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician and - consistent with all applicable legal requirements and restrictions- exercise individual thought, judgment and discretion in the performance of the procedure within their scope of practice as defined by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, American Society Radiologic Technologists, and Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI).
Knowledge and ability to demonstrate competency of differing US equipment as well as aseptic and sterile technique and requirements for probe cleansing prior to patient use. Maintain levels of quality that meet or exceed customer expectations through process improvement and a team-oriented approach. Demonstrate proficiency of EMR systems, as well as PACS and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
Demonstrates the ability to use all channels of communications to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.
Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients, family and staff in compliance with HIPAA. Effectively communicates with patients and/or radiologists.
Train and orient new technologists, patient coordinators as needed. Complete annual and on-going education and site specific competencies/in-services as designated by leadership.

Essential Functions:
Performs and manages the full range of routine and high-risk OB ultrasound procedures, including, dating, nuchal translucency (NT), detailed fetal anatomy, growth and biophysical profiles.
Performs advanced MFM and fetal echocardiography studies.
Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasound to detect normal or abnormal results.
Maintains ultrasound inventory for ultrasound exams and prepares room for exam.
Operates equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Utilizes ancillary devices such as selected transducers, audio- and video-recorders, computer systems, multi-format cameras and printers.
Maneuvers patients into the correct position for ultrasound procedures. Uses and adjusts immobilization and supportive devices to ensure patient safety, precise positioning and to minimize patient discomfort.
Sets up and maintains sterile fields while performing ultrasound procedures.
Performs various clerical and front desk duties. Maintains appropriate logs, files and records related to ultrasound procedures.
Identifies each patient with two identifiers and reviews each patient's physicians order. Analyzes patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of accurate diagnostic procedures.
Prepares patient records for review and interpretation by physician, including the selection, recording, cross referencing of significant or representative studies. Reports life threatening findings to physician immediately upon discovery.
Participates in quality improvement activities including evaluating procedure results for technical quality and accuracy.
Follows and adheres to all aspects of the clinics code of conduct.
Assists patients with mobility needs within the clinic setting.
Complies with staffing and on call rotations as required.
Maintains equipment through proper care and maintenance. Makes minor adjustments, and performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance. Inspects and disinfects probes prior to each exam. Reports any equipment malfunction to the Manager of Radiology.
