They will utilize high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities while complying with Conway Regional Health System policies and procedures. Through documentation and oral communication, essential information is shared with professional/technical health care personnel. Will be responsible for verifying order, charging procedures, working knowledge of PACS system, transport of patients with all necessary paperwork completion.

Qualifications
* Vascular certification from a recognized accrediting body (Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)) within one year of employment.
* Maintain the professional status "Active" registered member of such accrediting body fulfilling CME requirements
* BLS certified or eligible
* Previous computer experience
* Knowledge of Joint Commission and Arkansas Department of Health requirements preferred.

Summary of Job Duties:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations and assisting in interventional procedures within a fast-paced clinical environment.
The registered Vascular Sonographer position requires a high level of knowledge, ability and responsibility in patient care and the performance and preliminary interpretation of non-invasive vascular exams, including but are not limited to, lower and upper extremity venous duplex exams, lower and upper extremity arterial duplex exams and pressure measurements, carotid duplex exams, and visceral duplex exams. Will be required to perform after hour call and will include holidays. Critical thinking and good communication skills are necessary to interact with patients, families, and medical professionals. This position requires an appropriate credential in vascular testing.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or appropriate training in vascular sonography.
* RVT preferred or registry eligible per ARDMS requirements. · or · Registered as a Vascular Technologist within six months of employment.
* The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year of desired experience to perform clinical assessment, and all requested vascular sonographic examinations as ordered by the physician.

* Ability to assist patients onto and off examination tables. The ability to see and hear to perform duplex examinations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of manual dexterity and physical flexibility. Ability to push/pull an ultrasound system. Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.

* Performs clinical assessment and high-quality diagnostic noninvasive vascular examinations in an accurate and timely manner.
* Follows the written policies and procedures of the vascular lab but is capable of deviating from normal techniques when clinically necessary.
* Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
* Assists in student and resident education while performing examinations.
* Responsible for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of the patient while in the sonographer's care
* Demonstrates proper identification of patients by asking name and date of birth.
* Assures the exam ordered is completed; if the exam requested is questionable, contacts the ordering physician to verify the order.
* Maintains patient privacy.
* Maintains a clean work area and a properly stocked examination room.
* Assures that images are stored under the correct patient's name and medical record number.
* Preliminary findings must be attached to the order.
* Provides an appropriate preliminary findings report; reviews questionable findings with the director/MD promptly.
* Provides positive preliminary findings in certain cases, which include but are not limited to extensive deep vein thrombosis, acute arterial occlusion, or severe carotid stenosis, to the ordering physician/nurse/PA.
* Completes charges for exams performed with appropriate CPT and files charges in Epic.
* Takes calls when assigned.
* Prompt response to pager/phone - contacting the physician immediately when paged.
* Return to the hospital within an hour unless the physician requests a specific time for the exam to be done.
* Assists in scheduling and prioritization of patient exams and aids in troubleshooting problems with scheduling or critically ill patients.
* Checks AED and initials documents appropriately.
* Maintains all institutional training requirements.
* Maintains all continuing medical education requirements and maintains the ARDMS registry.
* Other duties as assigned.
