Perform sonographic procedures
Travel to clinic sites within your assigned area
Inspect and review patient charts, reports, lab results, and medical history

Perform and process Ultrasounds using portable sonographic equipment and digitally send for interpretation.

Check voicemail from each client's facility upon completion of their assigned case(s); or minimally every thirty (30) minutes as necessary.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound

Experience: Documented competency in echo and non-invasive vascular imaging. One (1) year of experience preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Ultrasound technician shall perform requested anatomical examinations based on the practitioner's brief clinical history.
2. The ultrasound technician shall provide outpatient services as scheduled by the facility and shall provide services required to perform under this contract.
3. The technician shall perform requested anatomical examinations based on the practitioner's brief clinical history. The technician shall receive patients, explain the methods of procedures, position patients, make adjustments necessary for the required examination and determine any special patient preparation that shall be necessary.
4. The technician shall provide their own equipment and ensure equipment is ready for use, procedures are correctly performed, and only properly functioning equipment is used.
5. The equipment shall be DIACOM compatible to digitally submit readings to Diagnostic Imaging Associates (DIA) for evaluation. The contract radiologist shall read the film, and reports shall be submitted to Wewoka Indian Health Center for inclusion in the patient's chart.
6. All equipment brought into WIHC shall be checked for safety and proper operation by WIHC staff. The equipment shall be checked before usage at each visit.
7. THE TECHNICIAN SHALL NEED TO SUPPLY THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT AND SUBMIT THEIR READINGS ELECTRONICALLY. Provide equipment that is capable of performing all modalities including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular and cardiac images, as well as static imaging color flow and Doppler mapping.
Qualifications:
Possesses a Bachelors degree or higher in Sonography from an accredited college/program.
Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Triple certified-capable of performing all modalities to include abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, vascular and cardiac images, static imaging, color flow, and Doppler mapping.

Positions patient and selects proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures. Adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images. Ensures safety, mental and physical comfort of patient.
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
Accurately identifies and labels images identifying patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
Maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
Identifies equipment performance issues, communicates to appropriate staff, and evaluates new products and equipment for possible future use.
Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor for students and staff. Acts as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
Participates in quality improvement, patient safety or cost containment project/initiative either at a site, market or system level and in the achievement/maintenance of laboratory accreditation.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
