Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with the Veterans Affairs Performance Work Statement and Radiology Service protocols. Operate, adjust, and optimize ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, including proper image annotation, labeling, evaluation, and completeness for timely physician interpretation. Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, confirming preparation requirements, and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and modesty throughout the examination.     Job Summary Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist (Medical Instrument Technician) Shift / Tour of Duty Rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call Days: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Split: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM Evenings: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM Nights: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM Compensation: Starting at $50.00/hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness Position Overview The Sonographer performs highly complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a Radiologist. Exams are frequently performed on patients with serious illness or physical limitations requiring adaptive techniques. Primary Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and portable ultrasound studies Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies Explain procedures and verify patient preparation Optimize image quality, labeling, and exam completeness Maintain infection control and patient safety standards Archive images and document procedures in PACS/DHCP Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications ARDMS certification - Required Familiarity with GE ultrasound equipment Knowledge of Philips IntelliSpace PACS highly desirable About Aptive Arrow ARC supports Veterans Health Administration facilities and offices across the U.S. with health care staffing and program support via the 10-year Integrated Critical Staffing Program (ICSP).
