RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Sonography Imaging
Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Sonography Department Support
Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

What you will do:
* Performs quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors, as well as a knowledge of anatomical structures pertinent to the patient population of infants to geriatrics.
* Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
* Educates patients of exams being performed and obtains consent to perform procedure when necessary.

* Assesses each patient for proper preparation and scanning protocol for each ordered exam.

* Operates 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound unit with appropriate transducers to perform and adequately ascertain the location of specific organs, with the demonstration of recorded images which reflect the appropriate calculations for accurate measurements.
Qualifications:
* Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following.
* Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
* Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
* Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
* Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
* If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
* Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME's every 3 yrs/annual payment)
* Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
