Sonoma State University CEO and leadership

In June of 2020, I retired after working for two years at Sonoma State University from the position of Associate Vice President of Information Technology / Chief Information Officer (CIO).

From October 2014 until June 2018, I held the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor at Rancho Santiago Community College District, which is a respected two year district with vast programs and services that reach over 40,000 students per year. It is a two college district located in Orange County that supports Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College. I am passionate about technology and thrive on the potential impact that technology can make on students' lives and particularly the success they might enjoy within their career choices.

In 1999, I began working for Cerritos College, which is a public two year college located near Los Angeles in Southern California and was founded in 1955. The college serves over 22,000 students per year. As Director of Information Technology, I oversaw the PeopleSoft environment as well as serving as project manager for our implementation and upgrade projects.

As for my educational background, I received my Master of Information Systems degree from Claremont Graduate University in 1999 after receiving my Bachelor of Computer Information Systems degree from DeVry University in 1986. Prior to entering higher education I worked in various industries: healthcare, insurance, and gaming.

Specialties: Since 1986 I have worked in Information Technology management with expertise in project management where I oversee staff, budgets, and project schedules.
