Manually sort recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper, etc. on a fast-paced moving conveyor. Under general supervision, this position requires manual dexterity with both hands as well as an ability to distinguish various materials within a short period of time, The capability of standing for long periods of time while lifting, bending and turning from side to side repeatedly. The ability to use stairways and work at different platform heights. The ability to learn to separate types of recyclable materials successfully. Keep surrounding work area clean and free of trip hazards, to include but not limited to conveyors and sort lines. Assist in end of shift clean-up of assigned work areas. Assist other co-workers with heavy bulky items as needed. Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (steel toed boots, safety gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and vest). Participate in the safety programs and follow all the safety rules. Perform other duties as assigned by management such as traffic control, janitorial duties of bathrooms and offices, garbage disposal and overall outside maintenance cleanup. Job Summary: The Auto Sort Operator/Vision-X Operator is responsible for ensuring that Vision-X system is working properly and that all components are maintained and in good working order. This position is a production/productivity related position. * Order entry of return loads into the HMI or Graphical user interface * Removes dunnage from inbound pallets * Clears jams in the system * Tipper * Flipper * Vision Booths * 3 Stackers * Runs accumulation tipper * Performs routine maintenance to ensure that photo lens and laser scanners are kept clean and functioning * Monitors the system to accuracy issues and reports out as needed to correct the problem * Other duties as assigned * Learn, understand, and adhere to all PECO safety policies and procedures for the depot as well as for your role Education, Skills and Experience: * Graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development (GED) * Good attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary * Good understanding of machine mechanics and how to make small repairs Physical Requirements: * Employee will need to be able to lift 65lbs repeatedly * Employee will be standing most of the day * Employee will periodically climb up and down stairs to clear machine jams Work Conditions: * Work is performed in a warehouse environment * Dust associated with pallet repair operations * Noise associated with pallet repair operations
