The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste. Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chute. Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items. Job Description Alameda Metals is a recycling facility which recycles CRV bottles, cardboard, newspaper and all types of metals. This job is performed outside in our scrap yard. Please be aware you will be working out in the scrap yard most of the time. Must have knowledge of different types of metals and how to sort and process them. Should have forklift and Bobcat experience. Starting pay based on experience and knowledge. Inexperienced persons need not apply.
