Responsibilities Process and recycle plant scrap material in an efficient manner Maintain the cleanliness of the scrap area Ensure recyclable material is sorted appropriately and report non-compliance Operate machinery in accordance with all safety regulations Work in a safe manner, follow all safety rules and report any potential safety hazards to management Responsible for ensuring work area is clean and organized per 6S standards Perform other duties as required Qualifications Must be able to bend, lift, reach, and twist repetitively Must be able to lift 50 lbs. through out the course of the day Must have good physical stamina and ability to handle hot/cold weather Must speak English fluently and read basic instructions in English. The primary purpose of the position is to perform the day to day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, and/or the Director of Environmental Services, to assure that all laundry procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Duties and Responsibilities Administrative Functions Assure that laundry schedules are followed as closely as practical. Report all accident/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. (Note: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.) Assure that establish infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor. Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner. Laundry Functions Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Keep supervisor informed of supply needs. Perform day to day laundry functions as assigned. Wash, dry and fold facility linen and resident personal clothing. Bring clean facility linen to linen closet. Assure residents personnel clothing is placed in proper resident's room. Sweep and mop basement each shift. Throw away any worn linen and inform supervisor when linen supply is low. Clean dryer filters and lint around dryers each shift. Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed. Working Conditions May require lifting over 25 pounds. Subject to potential cuts, bruises and back injuries if safety precautions are not adhered to. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning.
