This role requires attention to detail and the ability to handle items with care. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, as some tasks will involve moving furniture or large boxes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Sweeping
Achieve production standards with expected quality on a daily basis.
Verify that mail is sorting to the correct bin.
Ensure that the mail is placed in the correct tray.
Ensure that all mail placed in the trays is facing forward and upright in the tray.
Ensure bins are cleared of mail in a timely manner.
Ensure that jams are cleared in a timely manner.
Ensure that all trays have a tray tag prior to placing on the conveyor.
Replace damaged tray tag pockets ensuring placement in the correct location.
Ensure that trays are at least ¾ full before placing on conveyor.
Transfer mail and tray tags from trays that are less than ¾ full to the ½ size trays.
Print only the necessary amount of tray tags (print as needed) and turn in all unused tray tags at the end of each run.
Ensure that machine has been cleared at the end of each run prior to dropping the trays on the conveyor.
Ensure that all trays have been cleared prior to the start of the next run.
Replenish trays and other supplies as necessary to keep machines running without interruption.

Must have ability to accurately perform a minimum of 45 material sorting “picks” per minute on a sustained basis.
Work scheduled hours as required. At times this includes reporting to work earlier than the routine shift start, remaining on the job after the routine shift end time.
Must be able to work overtime on a routine daily basis.
Must be able to work Saturdays as plant production goals dictate.
Must adhere to all safety requirements and site work rules.

Require working in tight and awkward spaces, inside equipment and when necessary, removing jammed-up or built-up material and debris or obstructive items from on top of or inside equipment.
Must be comfortable working for extended periods of time at heights of up to 35' on various pieces of equipment or raised work platforms.
Must be able to perform work in an industrial / manufacturing type environment with extended exposure to high levels of noise, heat, humidity, cold, dust, odors, vermin / insects and other disagreeable elements often encountered within the waste and recycling industry as well as the potential to work outdoors in light rain or snow.
Must be able to work in varied climate and weather conditions.
