Overview
SOSi is actively seeking qualified, professional, and experienced Spanishinterpreters in El Paso, TX.
The Spanishinterpreter will be supporting a broad set of business activities from a call/contact center type environment. Our job is to support our customer's interpretation needs by providing language interpretation.
Essential Job Duties
+ Provides consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between Spanish and English and vice versa.
+ Provides over-the-phone and video remote interpreting for limited English proficiency (LEP) individuals as required.
+ Performs sight translation, occurring when an interpreter is given a written document in one language and asked to read it aloud in another language.
+ Provides quality control review of translated documents as required.
+ Performs other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements
+ Minimum one (1) year of experience interpreting in a judicial environment.
+ Legal ability to work in U.S.
+ Highly proficient in both English and Spanish vocabularies typically used in formal, consultative, and casual modes of communication in justice system contexts, including colloquial slang, idiosyncratic slang, and regionalisms.
+ Knowledgeable of specialized vocabulary (terminology) in both English and Spanish to legal and criminal justice system terminology and immigration procedures.
+ Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently, including high to low levels of language register, regional colloquialisms, and slang expressions, and do so with clear and intelligible pronunciation.
+ Ability to perform simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes, omissions, or additions.
+ Ability to preserve the tone and emotional level of the speaker, as well as manage the delivery, speed, and length of the statement (projection, pace and pausing) of the speaker.
+ Ability to maintain appropriate speed and projection while rendering interpretation, and request and incorporate clarification of speaker's statements only when justified.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Video remote and over-the-phone interpreting experience strongly preferred.
+ Cisco WebEx experience.
+ Federal, State, National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), and/or American Translators Association (ATA) certifications in interpretation.
+ Experience providing interpretation for Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) court cases.

Our job is to provide in person, over the phone, and video remote interpretation (VRI) interpretation services for scheduled and on-demand service requests within the state of Washington, and bordering zip codes. Essential Job Duties

Source material will contain legal, business, public administrative, medical, scientific, financial, historical, geographical, and military terminology, and concepts, including those dealing with technology as used in the sciences (chemical, physical, cyber). The specialized terminology used to express concepts in any of the given subject areas usually vary considerably from everyday usage in any of the target or source languages in question.
The material to be translated, transcribed, or interpreted is legal in nature. Materials may be provided to the Contractor in a variety of formats, including electronic or hard copies of books, journal articles, reports, manuscripts, letters, legal documents, memoranda, multi-media presentations, spreadsheets, email correspondence, SMS and MMS messages, and audio or video files. The substance of the materials may vary widely from highly complex, technical, and specialized information, to very informal, street language and textspeak. Examples of subject matter areas include: medical and autopsy reports; chemical lab reports; bank statements, cryptocurrency transaction tracking, and wire transfers; charging documents, warrants, treaties, statutes, regulations, court decisions, executive decisions, extradition requests, and mutual legal assistance requests; informal communications using coded language, highly time-sensitive treaty or extradition matters, and law enforcement sensitive information.

Position Goal: To provide access to education for students who are deaf and hard of hearing by facilitating communication. Work in collaboration with the Lead Interpreter to promote professional growth and development in support staff.
Essential Functions:
Interpret/transliterate information accurately, conveying the thought, intent, and spirit of the sender in a manner appropriate to the student's level.
Instruct students in the correct use of an interpreter.
Act as a liaison between PDHH staff and mainstream staff, providing relevant feedback as to student progress.
Adhere to all rules and protocol governing the confidential rights of all students.
Demonstrate functional comprehension of subject matter and develop technical signs specific to class curriculum.
Provide tutorial support to deaf and hard of hearing students.

* Preferred candidates should have completed relevant Formal/Advanced Military Training (Tech School, Advanced Individual Training, A School, or other MOS/AFSC/Rate granting equivalent) or have a current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
* Proficiency in advanced Python Scripting.
* Regional Geographic proficiency in the geographies of the analyst's AOR at the SME level.
* Demonstrated experience with native maps, secondary source maps, historic maps used for extraction and comparison, mapping imagery for stereo and mono extraction at various resolutions.
Work Environment
Work is within a team environment and will be conducted on site in St. Louis, MO.
