At the State College campus of South Hills Business and Technical College, you may earn an associate's degree in some of the most in-demand fields in as little as 18 months. Located in State College, Pennsylvania, the State College campus offers Associate degree programs in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Medical Assisting, Criminal Justice, Information Technology and Graphic Arts among others. South Hills Business and Technical College also has locations in Lewiston, Altoona and Philipsburg. The State College campus also grants diplomas in such fields as office assisting, accounting, computers and retail management. With some programs taking as little as a year, and others taking a year and a half to two years, the time investment to get such in-demand training is minimal. The Career Services department at South Hills provides students with extensive resources including job referrals, career and internship fairs, and workshops in job searching and career preparation. Since South Hills is so respected, a number of local employers actually contact the career services division for employee referrals. South Hills also offers professional development courses for employees interested in advancing or refining their office skills. These courses are used to teach such skills as Web design, office software, graphic arts, auto cad and project management Students in good academic standing may be eligible for financial aid. Some forms of aid include Pell grants, community scholarships, state grants, loans, agency funding and employer reimbursement.
