Ensures complete collection of referral information, including accurate patient demographics per department standard. b. Ensures accurate registration of insurance information and communicates to patient in a confidential manner. c. Completes registration and data entry of admission by selecting correct MR number and account number. d. Demonstrates ability to determine acceptability of physician's order with regard to clarity of diagnosis, appropriateness of discipline ordered, appropriate date, treatment plan in accordance with injury and initiates process to obtain corrected order e. Demonstrates independence, proficiency and accuracy with admission process, ensuring regulation compliance f. Orients new patients to essential program guidelines and expectations (Cancellation and no shows policy, copayment, etc.) g. Informs patient of their rights and responsibilities, HIPPA and completes all required documentation for a complete registration h. Accurately prepares new patient chart according to departmental standard. i. Consistently and independently detects and corrects errors in patient charts according to department standards j. Actively seeks out opportunity to act as a mentor to other staff with regard to pre -registration and registration process accuracy 3 - CO-PAYMENT COLLECTION Adheres to department standards for timely collection of co-payment, completing all documentation and delivery according to department standard a. Actively pursues co-payment at time of visit through use of scripting as established by department standard b. Consistently identifies and corrects errors in co-payment ledger for accurate delivery to cashier 4 - DAILY ASSIGNMENTS AND LONG-TERM PROJECTS Works independently to complete daily assignments by the end of the shift and long-term assignments by deadline established a. Compensation Pay Range: $123,947.20 - $224,122.21 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1 - Patient Care Organization a - Assumes management responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for a plan of care for obstetrical and gynecological patients selected according to approved nurse midwifery b - Collaborates with the health care team in planning and implementing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients. c - Participates in ongoing review of nurse midwifery prescriptive practice. d - Participates in Quality Management Program on a regular and continuing basis. 2 - Quality of Care a - Assists in the development, implementation and revision of nurse midwifery guidelines and standards of care. b - Evaluates individual health care status of patients, formulates a management plan and revises the plan as indicated. c - Participates in continuous case review and appropriately communicates current data regarding all patients cared for by the obstetrical team. d - Issues prescriptions and medication orders in accordance with SSH Nurse Midwifery practice protocols, and the rules set forth by the Board of Nursing. e - Prior to leaving each shift, ensures documents are clear, complete, concise and organized manner demonstrating skill in the nursing process. f - Seeks consultation according to nurse midwifery protocols from all members of the health care team involved in patient's care and makes appropriate referrals. g - Provides consultation services as required by the health care team. Completes history and physical examinations and laboratory tests as appropriate. Continues assessment and teaching throughout pregnancy as indicated by documentation. h - Manages normal labor and conducts delivery, including assessment of maternal and fetal status, identification of deviations from normal, management of third stage, management of episiotomy and perennial repairs. Identifies, manages and consults for obstetrical emergencies as indicated. i - Manages maternal postpartum course including teaching, referrals, and follow-up. j - Per week: Provides 12-hour on-call coverage to a caseload of obstetrical patients, including telephone triage.
