ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice
* Greet, assess and interview patients
* Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs
* Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint
* Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by provider
* Anticipate needs of patients, and the provider
* Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure
* Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent paramedic duties
* Maintain patient care areas
* Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms
* Charge and code supplies, medications, and procedures
* Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously documenting the problem
* Maintains patient confidentiality
* Administers medications and IVs per physician's orders
* Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures and more

The Boston Children's Hospital Critical Care Transport Team utilizes Emergency Medical Technicians to work collaboratively with the clinical team and the communication center, delivering safe, efficient, family-centered care to patients requiring critical care in transit. The EMT works within their scope of practice, following all team, hospital, and Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services policies and protocols.
Starting salary $27/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Managing transport equipment.
Operating the Boston Children's Hospital ambulance.
Managing radio critical care transport team telephone requests.
Manage Emergency Department referrals (“expects”) from the region.
Arranging ambulance discharges from Boston Children's Hospital.
Trauma activations.
Coordinating the transfer of diagnostic images.
Facilitating telemedicine consults with several hospital emergency departments.
36hrs; rotating days/nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
A Minimum of 3 years EMT experience required.
Experience in a 911 system is preferred.
Good communication skills.
The ability to work on a team.
Licensure/ Certifications:
Massachusetts Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
Massachusetts driver's license/or equivalent.

This Paramedic opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual that will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of the departments medical and nursing directors. Under the direction of a health care practitioner, the Paramedic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice that includes patient care/observation, assessments, specified treatments and procedures, provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication. Qualifications
High school education or equivalent
Completion of an approved EMT-P program and current certification as a Paramedic in the state of Nevada
