The Customer Service Representative position involves a high degree of public contact and ensures daily operations of the facility. This position is responsible for receiving and answering inquiries from the public by telephone, via email, or in person on a wide range of District services/programs, rates, policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for completing point of sale transactions, handling program registrations, group reservations, passes and collecting admissions. In addition, the Customer Service Representative will ensure that facility rules and safety standards are followed. We are currently looking for coverage for evening shifts from 4:00 pm to 9:15 pm, and occasionally weekends. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis. $20.85 to $29.25 Under the close supervision of the Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for assisting patrons, by providing safe, courteous and timely transportation to a variety of South Suburban Parks and Recreation programs in accordance with the District's policies and all driving laws. The position conducts inspections of the vehicle and performs necessary cleaning duties to ensure a safe, efficient and clean motor vehicle. The job may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours and weekends and holidays. Essential Duties: * Safely transport passengers to approved designated drop off & pick up points for a variety of programs via a bus. * Promotes positive customer relations and interactions by greeting patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner. * Operates the bus on schedule and within the designated route. * Regulates heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilating systems for patron comfort. * Conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections; performs vehicle walk through and walk-around before and after each trip; checks fluids and tires on vehicle before starting. Conducts inspections after each operation to note damage or defects including body damage, tires, radiator, lights, instruments, brakes, radio and other equipment. Informs management as needed on all safety and maintenance issues. * Maintains a clean bus both inside and outside; removes trash after each trip. Material and Equipment Used: To successfully perform the required job duties, this position regularly uses a phone, computer, fax, copies, digital/video cameras, and tools and equipment required for specific course curriculum (e.g. art tools, clay, etc.). Working Environment: This position works indoors in a studio/classroom or recreation center and must be able to work in a noisy environment. May also work in busy office environment subject to continuous interruptions. May occasionally work outside subject to variable weather, ecosystems and landscapes. Physical Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate and perform the techniques unique to varying art disciplines. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception and color vision. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects.
