To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Operate hand and power tools when needed to support outbound blocking and bracing to load out containers. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments. Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments. Periodically use computers, email, scanners, and the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory, create paperwork, or document reporting. Support and promote company core values. Regular attendance is required. Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized. Attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Ability to read and interpret general business documents. Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence. Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts. Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment. Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems. Good judgment; knows when to escalate issues and when to try to resolve them. Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, as well as Internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications, such as the WMS. Ability to type and update computer systems quickly and accurately. Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization. A team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation. Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/ oral communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities. Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment. Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred. Previous general maintenance experience preferred using power tools, nail guns, and saws while adhering to safety procedures. Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment, following all required safety procedures. Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals. Must possess mechanical ability and stamina to work with power tools. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
