The CHA Trainee (CHA-T) level is a training classification for those who do not yet qualify as CHA I. The CHA I, II, III, IV and Practitioner are expected to operate within the guidelines of the CHA/P Manual and their level of training and the scope of practice consistent with their level of training. CHA II, III, IV and Practitioner are also expected to act within the limits of their Standing Orders (SO) when applicable. This position has five (5) level designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experience and training. Progression between job levels is based on qualifications/certifications and the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments and certifications. Qualifications: SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services: Qualifications for a CHA-T: * High School diploma; OR GED. * Meets all requirements and expectations of the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures for the CHA-T * Meet all expectations outlined in the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures. Additional Qualifications for CHA I: Meets all requirements of CHA Trainee in addition to the following: * Successful completion of the mathematic/TABE Test at the 6th Grade level. * Successful completion of Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) OR Emergency Medical Technician. Certification must be maintained throughout employment. * Successful completion of the Session I [one (1)] of CHA training program and passing required testing with a grade of 80 percent or better. * In accordance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) it is required to enroll as individual rendering providers with Alaska Medicaid. * Meet all expectations outlined in the Community Health Aide Program Certification Board Standards and Procedures.
