Hours: Modified full-time - 36 hours M-F 8A-8:30P / S-S 9A-5:30P
Shift: Day/Evening, weekend, holiday rotation. Every other weekend & every other holiday.

Under direction of individually assigned Physician, Office Manager or Designee, perform a wide variety of patient care and related duties both within and in support of Southcoast Physicians Group.
Including, but not limited to taking patient histories, conduct physical exams, review past medical records, complete electronic health records, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient and family; perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; review results of studies and procedures and interpret results toward quality patient care.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants within one year of hire is required.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required. Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required or immediately pending.
Current MA or RI R.N. registration is required.
Over 3 months experience.
NP MA Nursing License authorization to practice in an expanded role.
PA Physician Assistant License authorization to practice.
CME requirements as needed.

Bases clinical practice on evidence, unit guidelines, and professional standards to improve the quality of care and to guide clinical judgments.
Demonstrates essential knowledge of pharmacology/medications in administering drugs and monitoring the patient's response.
Maintains competency with technology and equipment. Utilizes equipment in a safe manner.
Uses appropriate infection control and safety practices in all duties.

Job Summary
Flex 7:00pm-7:30am; schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays
Flex nurses will generally work 24 hours per week. However, based upon the Hospital's patient care requirements as determined at the discretion of the flex nurse's manager or designee, a flex nurse may be required to flex their hours either up 12 hours or down 12 hours within a week. Call is required for this position.
Flex time nurses in a 24 hour position will receive health and dental benefits consistent with how regularly scheduled 30 hour nurses receive those benefits. The Telemetry Nurse provides care to patients with critical or life threatening illness. The Telemetry Nurse monitors and interprets rhythms, monitors patient's hemodynamic statuses, administers prescribed cardiac medications and Telemetry approved drips.
The Telemetry Nurse is expected to recognize and assist patients in shock or those with other, life threatening, complications. The Telemetry assists with emergency and elective cardio versions as well as the insertion of temporary pacemakers.
This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice: Participates in daily huddles and shares information with the team that is vital to enhance the patient office experience, delivery and coordination of care and incorporates the patient as an active team member.
