Conduct patient interviews and provide clerical support including but not limited to patient registration, data/order entry, transcription of orders, collation of medical records and other clerical duties as assigned. Qualifications * Equal to completion of four years of high school plus specialized courses and training. * Over one up to including three years of related work experience is required. * Must be able to successfully complete the Medical Terminology Exam. * CPR certification required. * Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedics certifications preferred. * Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired. The Emergency Department RN assumes full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to individuals and groups. Included in such responsibility is health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning and restoration of optimal functioning, and/or comfort for the dignified death of those they serve. The Emergency Department RN, within the parameters of his/her generic and continuing education experience, may delegate nursing acuities to other registered nurses and/or health care personnel, provided that the delegating Emergency Department RN shall bear full and ultimate responsibility for the patient outcomes. The Emergency Department RN must have excellent assessment skills, clinical skills, organizational skills, and computer knowledge and charge capabilities. The Emergency Department RN must be able to lift, transfer and move patients. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Able to complete mathematical computations required to perform treatment protocols. Required Knowledge & Skills: Experience: Prior experience in an emergency department preferred Education: Nursing degree required: diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required Certification/Licensure: Valid Massachusetts RN license and BLS required.
