EDUCATION

Ability to collaborate with patients, families, and employers to modify workplace or home environment in line with
patient's condition, including identification of environmental factors and hazards.
Ability to communicate with patients and families in caring and compassionate manner to encourage behavioral changes.
Ability to analyze patient data and behavior and modify treatment plan as appropriate.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Medical office and exam room settings. May also require visits to patient homes and workplaces. Exposure to
communicable diseases, biohazards, and conditions related to clinic setting.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting. Must be able to transport/ transfer patient safely.
Occasional need to lift/ carry and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50+ pounds. Some stress related to dealing with concerns of patients and families.

Summary:
Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and directives.
Guide and encourage patients through manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises, daily-living activities, and the use of supportive devices (crutches, canes, prostheses).
Provide patient education on wellness, growth and development, and therapeutic regimens.
Document patient care accurately in medical and departmental records.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection-control and safety protocols.
Monitor treatment trends, patient progress, and production objectives to support clinic efficiency.
Contribute to the clinic's reputation by taking ownership of patient care and exploring opportunities to enhance services.
Requirements:
Completion of all requirements and a current Florida PTA certification
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities involving bending, stretching, and manual dexterity.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and JCAHO regulations.
Strong interpersonal and patient interaction skills; ability to instruct, motivate, and encourage patients.
