We currently have an exceptional career opportunity for a Licensed Counselor to join our team in the New London Outpatient program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assist in orienting client to program, goals of the program, rules governing client conduct and infractions, and client rights upon admission for treatment.
Ensure that insurance authorizations are accounted for in line with dates of treatment and services provided
Provide education and information to clients individually and through groups concerning substance use disorders and recovery resources
Coordinate case management needs to match services, agencies, and resources with clients to assist with discharge planning
Provide crisis intervention services to respond to client's needs during acute emotional and or physical distress.
Support individual client in identifying strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs in ongoing treatment planning to address substance use and/or mental health issues.
Identify client needs that cannot be met at this level and assist in the referral of the client to available support system and community resources.
Meet with multidisciplinary team to acknowledge and report on client progress, discuss and modify established treatment plan.
Formulate clinical interventions to promote stability and ensure client engagement and investment.
Provide counseling for family or significant others as appropriate
Meet all documentation requirements for client progress, referral and contractual networking, and incident reporting
Complete initial client assessment for placement and ongoing assessment for continued treatment or referral to a more appropriate level of care.
Establish a treatment plan with the client formulated around goals with targeted objectives and interventions to maximize strengths and resources
Utilize counseling skills to assist clients through individual, group or family counseling to achieve objectives through exploration of problems, examination of attitudes and feelings, consideration of alternative solutions, and decision making.
Chart results of assessment and treatment planning, writing reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other client related data in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Requires Associate License (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) or Independent License (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC).
Compensation:
Counselor III (associate license) - starting $60.000/annually.
Counselor IV (Independent License) - starting $80,000/annually.

Program Summary
Natchaug's Joshua Center Programs treat children as young as six and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the student's home.
Job Summary
Behavioral Health Clinician works in coordination with interdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidence based clinical services in the Child/Adolescent Outpatient department. Clinical services include individual, group and family therapy.
Key responsibilities of Behavioral Health Clinician:
Conducts a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and establishes a care plan, as appropriate.
Provides direct patient care that may include case management, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration for care transition needs, crisis intervention/safety planning, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families coping with illness, trauma, or end -of-life care, referral and discharge planning.
Refers patient to appropriate levels of care and available resources that promote the individualized care plan.
Maintains timely patient-centered documentation that reflect the patient and client systems' pertinent information for assessment, interventions and outcomes in accordance with regulatory licensing requirements and third-party agencies.
This position floats to all Natchaug sites as needed; Danielson, Dayville, Enfield, Groton, Mansfield, Norwich, Old Saybrook, Vernon. Additional compensation provided.

Qualifications
Master's degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy or related human service field.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably working with a mental health and/or chemical dependency population
Current Connecticut LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, or CADC
Valid drivers license.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships within and outside their entity
Is cognizant of health-related social needs and cultural competence. Recognizes and addresses health disparities-inequalities and injustices directed toward clients, related to access to care and provision of health services.

Program Summary
In the Adult Partial Hospitalization Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Treatment programs, we focus on creating a therapeutic environment where people can learn strategies for coping and improve their functioning. Each client's treatment plan is centered on group therapy which allows for sharing of experiences while gaining support and validation. When people need intensive, comprehensive treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency issues but do not need inpatient or residential hospital care, Natchaug offers intensive, structured clinical treatment in programs that may include up to six hours of treatment a day, five days a week. These intensive treatment programs can help prevent the need for hospitalization. They can also help people make the transition to home after inpatient or residential treatment. Natchaug brings this clinical care closer to people's homes by offering programs throughout Eastern Connecticut.

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing initial triage and screening of behavioral health services as requested by the Emergency Care Center. Within the emergency setting, provides crisis intervention and assessment to a broad range of psychiatric and substance disordered adults and children, managing patients' needs to appropriate disposition. Collaborates with emergency care center staff as well as a team of outpatient and inpatient mental health professionals. These services are provided under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager of the Counseling Center and Crisis Intervention, with a collaborative reporting role to the System Director of Behavioral Health.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Provides direct crisis assessment and intervention services to patients
Provides patient-focused and empathetic care to patients and their families.
Interviews and assesses the patient and family for suicide lethality and/or dangerousness to others, current mental status, level of functioning, social supports, intoxication and other factors which impact treatment decisions.
Provides immediate crisis counseling to stabilize a patient and to bring the situation under control.
Manages to effective disposition: resolution of the crisis situation or facilitation of inpatient admission.
Provides support and education to family supportive others of patients in crisis.
Collaborates with the other units of the service line and the hospital
Provides consultation to the emergency care center staff as requested.
Assists staff of the emergency care center through therapeutic intervention of acute behavioral emergencies.
Provides effective communication hand-off's in the transition of patient's care to the emergency care center, inpatient behavioral health unit and outpatient services.
Provides cross-program coverage and functions with the behavioral health inpatient unit other duties as assigned.
Attends and participates in clinical case conferences or departmental staff meetings to ensure effective transition and continuity of care.
Gathers collateral information and uses in treatment and dispositional planning
Consults and confers with professional staff, emergency department staff, physicians, nurses, clergy, police officers, and other outside agencies.
Gathers data, relays information for follow through, and refers to appropriate services.
Establishes mechanisms for follow up contact and information and exchange with outside agencies.
Post crisis intervention, establishes post-discharge contact with patients to monitor treatment compliance and reinforce the importance of treatment follow-up.
Maintains all records and documentation according to policy and procedures

The Children's Center of Hamden is seeking compassionate and motivated Clinical Interns (MFT and LPC track) to join our Clinical Services Department. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience providing supervised clinical support to children, adolescents, and families in a mission-driven setting. You'll participate in assessment, treatment planning, individual and family sessions, and documentation while learning best practices in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. What You'll Do
As Clinical Intern, you will:
Provide supervised clinical services (individual, family, and/or group) aligned with program needs
Support intake/assessment processes and contribute to treatment planning
Participate in clinical team meetings, case conferences, and consultation
Complete timely documentation in accordance with agency standards and confidentiality requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support client progress and continuity of care
Engage in supervision and professional development activities to build competency and meet program requirements
What We're Looking For
Current graduate student in a COAMFTE-accredited MFT program
or
CACREP-aligned counseling program (LPC track),
or equivalent
Strong interest in working with children/adolescents and families
Commitment to ethical practice, reliability, and professionalism
Ability to learn and apply clinical feedback in supervision
Basic comfort with documentation and use of electronic records (training provided as needed)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the program/site as needed for sessions, meetings, and client support.
Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting with frequent interpersonal interaction and occasional high-stimulation environments (noise, interruptions, or emotional intensity).
Ability to maintain attention and composure when exposed to sensitive clinical content, including crises or challenging client behaviors (with supervision and support).
Potential exposure to bodily fluids and other environmental hazards in residential, school-based, or milieu settings.

SCADD's Lebanon Pines program offers long term treatment for men with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders on a 56-acre campus in the southeastern region on Connecticut.
We have an exceptional opportunity for a Licensed Counselor in the state of Connecticut working at our Lebanon, CT location.
Compensation Range: $60,000 - $80,000
Job duties of the position include:
Assist in orienting client to program, goals of the program, rules governing client conduct and infractions, and client rights upon admission for treatment.
Ensure that insurance authorizations are accounted for in line with dates of treatment and services provided
Provide education and information to clients individually and through groups concerning substance use disorders and recovery resources
Coordinate case management needs to match services, agencies, and resources with clients to assist with discharge planning
Provide crisis intervention services to respond to client's needs during acute emotional and or physical distress.
Support individual client in identifying strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs in ongoing treatment planning to address substance use and/or mental health issues.
Identify client needs that cannot be met at this level and assist in the referral of the client to available support system and community resources.
Meet with multidisciplinary team to acknowledge and report on client progress, discuss and modify established treatment plan.
Formulate clinical interventions to promote stability and ensure client engagement and investment.
Provide counseling for family or significant others as appropriate
Meet all documentation requirements for client progress, referral and contractual networking, and incident reporting
Complete initial client assessment for placement and ongoing assessment for continued treatment or referral to a more appropriate level of care.
Establish a treatment plan with the client formulated around goals with targeted objectives and interventions to maximize strengths and resources
Utilize counseling skills to assist clients through individual, group or family counseling to achieve objectives through exploration of problems, examination of attitudes and feelings, consideration of alternative solutions, and decision making.
Chart results of assessment and treatment planning, writing reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other client related data in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Requires Associate License (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) or Independent License (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC).
