Responsibilities
Responds to internal environmental and permitting-related inquiries in support of power purchase agreement bids, project financing, and third-party due diligence
Creates and maintains construction and compliance requirements document, updating monthly portfolio exception report and managing all change processes
Investigates and outlines the permitting process in varying jurisdictions, including application requirements, fees, anticipated approval timelines, required studies and the likelihood of securing the required permits.
Reviews permit applications, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all documentation
Secures land use permits for new and acquired renewable energy facilities across multiple local, state, and federal jurisdictions for projects
Stays up to date with relevant regulations, codes, and permitting requirements at the federal, state, and local levels
Tracks and influences state policy developments, including legislative and regulatory activities

Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of experience with acquisition of construction permits and/or planning and design of electric utility projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reviewing and interpreting electric utility construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.
Experience working within construction timelines and with various construction personnel and clients.
Experience monitoring and updating permit statuses, approvals, and expiration dates.
One or more years of experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
Three or more years of experience acquiring encroachment, excavation and/or traffic control permits.
Experience interfacing with governmental agencies to acquire necessary construction permits.
Three or more years of experience working in the electric utility industry.
Experience reporting on project status to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience acting as the point of contact for internal and external generated questions related to permit applications.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
