In this job, you'll be responsible for the construction, inspection, maintenance, and restoration of all overhead and underground electric distribution systems. Responsibilities + Assists Linemen to gain poles, frame cross-arms, assemble guys, and splice wire. + Loads and unloads material. + Raises material and tools on pole or tower by use of handline. + Dismantles material removed from the line and places on trucks. + Digs holes for poles and anchors. + Drives ground rods and pull wires and guys to tension. + Attends winch while handling heavy material and attends reels while stringing wire. + Makes and maintains trails, fells trees, hoes weeds around poles and towers. + Learns tools, materials, and methods of line construction and maintenance. + Operates truck and power equipment used in overhead and underground line construction. May occasionally operate vehicles up to the 12,000 lb. unladen weight class. + Maintains a safety "own it" attitude where you choose to be safe for what and who you value. + Performs other miscellaneous manual labor functions as advised. + A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Preferred Qualifications + Experience with electrical tools, materials, and methods employed in overhead and underground line construction and maintenance. + Experience as a Groundman working on overhead and underground construction. + A certificate of completion from an SCE-accredited training program with Pole Climbing Endorsement such as East LA Skills Center, LA Trade Tech, Northwest Lineman's College, Electrical Lineman Apprentice, Electrical Line Worker or Electrical Utility Program. + Experience with performing heavy manual labor. + CPR certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association. The advisor will also verify that the construction and design requirements have been achieved by performance of independent field inspections and desktop review. As an Advisor (QEW/JEM) Quality Control Inspection, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future? **Responsibilities** + Coordinates, schedules and supervises crews engaged in the construction, removal and maintenance of energy distribution facilities and equipment + Organizes, performs, reviews and coordinates audits and inspection activities, establishing new processes for emergent quality control audit requests + Investigates internal and external root causes and ensures the implementation of corrective actions, visiting suppliers to assess the quality process and drive for quality improvement + Oversees the analysis and effectiveness of the quality system and coordinates quality related issues with other departments, suppliers and customers; evaluating work methods, procedures, and policies while also coaching and mentoring functional groups and departments on quality processes + Ensures all work was completed in accordance with the company's standards and practices + Serves as a resource to crews, foremen, and supervisors by identifying potential work order design safety hazards during inspection activities, proposing solutions to alleviate such concerns and maintaining the expertise and technical knowledge needed to safely and optimally prep jobs + Addresses and resolves customer concerns related to inspection activities such as duct, trench, and structure inspection in a timely manner + Contributes to the development of the annual quality control plan, including information and data gathering, interview schedule, site visit schedule, associated logistics, and other quality control related activities + A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. **Minimum Qualifications** + Seven or more years of experience conducting quality engineering (QE), and quality control (QC) inspections within the electric utility industry. + Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or similar subject area. + Experience working as a Journeyman/Lineman + Experience working with overhead design standards such as GO 95 and construction principles. + Experience with Underground Detailed Inspections (UDI), intrusive pole testing, pole replacement, and the general rules and objectives of overhead / underground construction and maintenance. + Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to improve customer happiness and efficiency, lead risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide outstanding service to internal and external customers. + Experience with SCE easements, rights-of-way, prescriptive rights and the rights check process. + Experience in the use of the CMS field tool. + Experience with QC inspection and testing techniques of electrical distribution systems. + Experience with Transmission & Distribution electrical overhead line construction and maintenance programs, standards, regulations, field policies, and CPUC G.O 95, 128, and 165 and the related operations & maintenance manuals. + Broad knowledge and understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or civil construction industry standards and field policies that specify and govern quality control programs. + Knowledge of and experience with Quality Control / Quality Assurance principles and practice as applied to field observations, field assessment, and record of completed work. + Experience crafting reports, providing analysis, and communicating conclusions relative to quality control. + Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to know the latest with relevant technology and innovation. + Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additional Information + This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.
