Position Summary (major areas of contribution): The assembler will be responsible for putting together and repairing various parts/pieces of complex components as per product design to ensure they are suitable for the completion of the final product. Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties) Use job specific tools and equipment to align materials and assemble/repair parts to build complex units. Take precise measurements to ensure accurate fit of components as per design. Select or modify components according to specifications. Inspect components prior to assembly to detect and report on defective materials, malfunctions, or questionable conditions. Ensure that assembled items meet quality specifications. Perform material handling functions, including loading materials for job runs using hoist or forklift. Minimum Qualifications / Skills: High School Degree or GED. Ability to work independently within a team environment. Ability to read and operate measurement tools. Strong attention to detail. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and schematics Ability to skillfully and safely operate job specific tools and equipment Strong verbal communication skills Experience (type and amount of experience required): High School Diploma or Equivalent Prior experience as assembler preferred Prior experience in manufacturing preferred Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc. Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Keeping a permanent record of the service requests received. 11. Supervising the maintenance of exterior lighting, gutters, down-spouts, roofs and flashing, roadways, walks, swimming pools, laundry facilities, recreation areas, buildings and grounds. 16. Supervising the policing of the property and dumpster areas morning, evening and on weekends. 17. Knowing the location of all water, gas and power turnoffs, clean-out traps, fire hydrants, and fire extinguishers. Having available telephone numbers of the police, ambulance service, fire department, power, gas and water companies. 18. Establishing and executing a regular preventive maintenance schedule for cleaning of furnaces and A/C coils, oiling motors and circulating pumps, exterior painting, changing of filters, replacing of light bulbs in public areas, maintaining swimming pool and pump rooms, and the water heating equipment, boiler rooms and chiller equipment. 19. Knowing current condition of all vacancies. 20. Participating in the hiring of maintenance personnel. 21. Holding classes for the maintenance staff, as needed, to improve their efficiency. 22. Keeping accurate and up-to-date inventory of tools and supplies. 23. Stripping any discarded appliances or equipment of any usable parts. 24. Recording the serial numbers of appliances in each apartment. 25. Maintaining a clean, orderly, secure workshop. 26. Ensuring that the maintenance staff thinks and works safely. 27. Leaving notices in resident's apartments which state reasons for entrance and an explanation of any work performed. 28. Performing make-ready tasks in turnover units as directed. 29. Ensures proper stocking of First Aid Kit and other medical and safety supplies as necessary. 30. Coordinates after hours on-call service. 31. Work hours are set by the Portfolio Manager. They work with various materials, such as galvanized steel and aluminum, interpret blueprints, and ensure the quality and integrity of our products (roof curbs, drop boxes, etc.). This will be a 3rd shift position with the following hours: Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6:30am Duties include, but are not limited to: Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency. Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production. MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products. Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion. Under direct supervision, spot welds together metal components. What We Are Looking For Familiar with safe welding practices. Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction. Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel. (Can be taught) Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table. Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Individual must be a self-starter and need minimal guidance on daily task. Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies. Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Trade school or certification in welding. Required: 1-year previous MIG welding experience. Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting. Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment. What We Offer Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay for this role is $19.50/hour with a shift differential of $1.50. Factors that may affect the full pay range for employees in this role and market include geography/market and the individual's tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
