* Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification

This is a part time position at 24 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. This role is a part of the Weekend Program and offers premium pay on top of base pay. Schedule for this role is 2 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday - 12:00PM - 12:30AM. Holidays required when applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
* Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
* Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
* Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
* Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
* Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
* Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
* Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed

Description

Provides computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients.
Responsibilities:
* Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Utilizes ALARA principles during examinations.
* Implements radiation protection and safety standards.
* Prepares for and assists the physician in computed tomography procedures, including interventional procedures. Performs reconstruction of CT images.
* Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
* Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
* ARRT certification on Computed Tomography (CT) within one year of hire
* CPR-Basic Life Support
* Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure
* Physical Demands Requirement:
* Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
Preferred:
* One year of Radiology Technologist experience

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed
Qualifications
Required:
ARRT
IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
BLS through American Heart Association
2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
Preferred:
ARRT registry in CT or MRI
1 year experience
