Schedule: 8:00pm-6:30am
* No call (pager expectations when in house only)
Essential Functions:
* Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
* Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
* Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.
* Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise.
* Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care.
* Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
Responsibilities:
* Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area.
* Provides direct clinical care to patients.
* Prescribes/orders medications, therapies; orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges.
* Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care.
* Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
* Documents in the medical record all care and education provided and/or procedures performed for which the Licensed Advanced Practice Provider is responsible.
* Refers to other disciplines as appropriate.
* Consultant to other disciplines in areas of expertise.

Qualifications
Required
:
Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited PhysicianAssistant Program
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. OR Master's degree from an accredited PhysicianAssistant Program/Current license as a PhysicianAssistant in the State of Illinois.
Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (issued by the American Heart Association) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by department
Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department
Preferred:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an APP
Pain Medicine, Neurosurgery, or Orthopedic experience

Irving Park Road). Our board-certified physicians evaluate, diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive disorders using advanced diagnostic and endoscopic techniques.
The general gastroenterology position will share inpatient service at NMH and provide outpatient care in the clinic and endoscopy settings. Job Description
Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a PhysicianAssistant to work in our inpatient Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) department.
At NM we have an open surgical ICU. The surgical subspecialities continue to be primary with our SICU team providing critical care support. The SICU APP coordinates daily care plans with the primary team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, completing daily assessments of the patients, ordering necessary labs and imaging, participating in multidisciplinary ICU rounds, care coordination with consulting services, and providing family updates/assisting with goal of care conversations. In addition, our SICU APPs will perform bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy, central line placement (triple lumen catheter, cordis, trialysis catheter), arterial line placement, chest tube placement, and ultrasound.
Schedule: 4 ten-hour shifts weekly with rotating days off
one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) each month is required (these shifts will be included in the 4 shifts for the week and not in addition to)

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant to work with our Surgical Oncology team. This position will be a mix of ambulatory, inpatient, and OR coverage.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; day time hours

Essential Functions:
* Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
* Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population.
* Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise.
* Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise.
* Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care.
* Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
Responsibilities:
* Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in clinical area.
* Provides direct clinical care to patients.
* Prescribes/orders medications, therapies; orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges.
* Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care.
* Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
* Documents in the medical record all care and education provided and/or procedures performed for which the Licensed Advanced Practice Provider is responsible.

Qualifications
Required:
* Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited PhysicianAssistant Program
* Acute care certification required for APRNs (inpatient experience as an NP will be considered in lieu of acute care certification)
* First Assist Certification for all APRNs
* Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number OR Master's degree from an accredited PhysicianAssistant Program/Current license as a PhysicianAssistant in the State of Illinois. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical responsibilities:
Assesses, diagnoses, and determines/alters treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition. This includes ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic studies and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and therapies.
Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
