Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in Marietta, Georgia educates hardworking and high-performing students who go on to succeed. Once enrolled at SPSU, students may choose to get their bachelor's degree from one of SPSU's five distinctive schools. These include a school of architecture, civil engineering and construction, a school of computing and software engineering, a school of engineering technology and a school of arts and sciences. SPSU also has a continuing education division, which offers professional certificates and training. SPSU's classes are small and intimate, the classrooms are technologically up to date and the faculty is highly qualified. SPSU also gives its students exceptional learning opportunities through co-ops and internships. Such opportunities place students in relevant work environments where they may put knowledge and learning into practice. Previous internships have been undertaken with top corporations like IBM and Yamaha Motors. SPSU's career and counseling division also helps students succeed through job-placement services. With the help that SPSU students get in preparing resumes, refining interviewing skills and then interviewing with prospective employers, it is no surprise that many SPSU grads find employment after graduation. Additional services offered to students include workshops in such areas as time-management and study skills, personal counseling, and scholarships or other forms of financial aid (for eligible students). Many students live in on-campus residence halls and dine at the school's dining facilities, so that they might grab hold of the social and recreational opportunities at SPSU. These include intramural sports, student clubs and organizations, Greek life, student publications and even a student-operated radio station.
