Southshore Association company history timeline
After a few changes of ownership and challenging years, the Town of Hingham purchased the Club via eminent domain in 1988 for $7,000,000 with the assistance of taxpayer dollars from both the Town and Commonwealth.
The SS/TMA was established in 1994 as the outcome of a study to determine the most effective way to engage the private sector in planning, developing, and implementing transportation, transit, and mobility projects throughout the South Shore.
In 1997, the IAC launched a network of twelve Regional Arts Partners intended to provide more direct delivery of both grants and services to arts organizations throughout Indiana.
Since July 1, 2008, South Shore Arts entered into an agreement with the Northwest Indiana Symphony that makes South Shore Arts the exclusive management and operations agent for the Symphony through a collaboration that has created efficiencies and reduced costs.
