Recommend advance rates, reserves, and concentration limits based on client profile and collateral quality. Credit Memo Preparation & Presentation Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda that clearly outline client strengths, weaknesses, and risk factors. Present and defend underwriting recommendations to the Credit Committee, senior management, and executive leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with business development teams to structure competitive yet risk-appropriate proposals. Work closely with legal counsel and senior management to ensure loan documents, factoring agreements, and collateral filings are accurate and enforceable. Support operations and account management teams during onboarding to ensure smooth client transitions. Portfolio Management & Monitoring Provide ongoing oversight of approved facilities, monitoring borrower performance against projections and covenants. Analyze trends in client AR quality, debtor payment performance, and borrowing base compliance. Recommend facility modifications, risk rating changes, or exit strategies as needed. Market & Industry Insight Stay informed on economic conditions, industry trends, and competitive practices impacting factoring and asset-based lending. Leverage industry knowledge to anticipate risks and identify new underwriting opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or related field 3+ years of underwriting experience in commercial finance Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. In-depth knowledge of UCC filings, lien searches, and collateral documentation. Proven ability to assess risk and structure transactions within policy and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to executives and committees. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple transactions simultaneously. Understanding of the underwriting process by asset class. The Portfolio Manager is part of the Fund Finance Credit Management Team focused on the long-term risk-adjusted returns for the bank within the assigned business segment and/or geographic area(s). This individual manages a sub-set of existing credits and is a key partner in the origination of new credits. Primary responsibilities include: Provide customized solutions for asset management clients in support of both their managed Funds and the capital needs of the Firm. Transaction types include (i) capital call and subscription facilities for managed Funds (RLCs used to bridge timing between fund investments acquisition and calling capital from LP investors) and (ii) RLCs/TLs directly to the asset management firm to support working capital, dividend distributions, general corporate purposes, GP investments and partner buy-outs. Provide comprehensive credit recommendations and presentations to key risk partners related to prospect(s) and existing clients of the bank (including moderate to complex new credit structures, modifications, and extensions) based on a comprehensive review of the borrower(s) and guarantor(s)' financials (which may include current and historical financial statements, tax returns, projections and/or cash flow proformas.) Present credit recommendations within the bank's risk appetite and framework and follow the bank's policies, processes and procedures.
