JOB SUMMARY: The Engineering Intern's primary objective is to assist with a heavy drafting load, new design improvement projects, and production support. This person is responsible for completing drafting projects, working closely with other engineers on new designs, and support the production floor to improve efficiencies.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Complete Solidworks drawings and create official PDF drawings
Work on new designs within Solidworks
Create electrical and hydraulic schematics in Microsoft Visio
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1 year engineering focused college education. Experienced in CAD modelling, ideally Solidworks. Proficient in Microsoft application (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Some bending and twisting are required. Routine duties will occasionally require lifting approximately 10-20 pounds (and periodically heavier loads.)

What you'll Do:
Our Process Engineeringinternship offers a hands-on learning experience in cable design and industry standards, including UL, IEC, BS, and more. As an intern, you'll work closely with a Senior Engineer and the engineering team, assisting with various projects such as measuring products, examining cable constructions, reviewing customer specifications, and supporting new product testing. · Coach process owners how to use engineering and Lean methods to achieve operational excellence.
· Establish and implement performance measures. Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the plant objectives.
· Work with site leadership to conduct assessments of critical sites and business needs. Actively partnering with process owners to ensure results delivered / future state achieved and ability to connect the dots in the Operations function and ensure business priorities come first.
· Establish agenda and frequency and be an active participant in regular Management Review meetings.
· Manage personal business travel plans, prioritization of current projects, and communicate efforts to direct leadership.

Required Qualifications

What You'll Do
Leakage & Sealing Analysis
Evaluate sealing strategies (O-rings, laser-welded joints, adhesives) for small fluid systems.
Evaluate a plastic-on-plastic interface between two components to provide a seal in lieu of a standard O-ring or gasket
Recommend best design practices for high-pressure or low-flow systems.
Manifold Design for Fluid Distribution
Design a manifold that evenly splits flow across multiple outlets.
Use CFD to optimize geometry, then prototype and test.
CFD Model Validation
Simulate laminar-to-turbulent transition in a channel or nozzle.
Validate with experimental Reynolds number-based measurements.
