Pros of working at Southwest Care

Reasonable benefits (standard for healthcare) outside of pay.

Cons of working at Southwest Care

C-suite and middle management (with few exceptions in middle management) are inept. Some are notorious liars. The CEO is reported to be a bully toward providers and does not take criticism at all. The CEO, CFO, HR director, and compliance director are all remote workers. The board is uninvolved and uninterested in staff and provider turnover.

Southwest Care benefits

Oh, I live for pizza parties.

What do you like best about Southwest Care's CEO and the leadership team?

Nothing. Honestly, they are uninvolved with the employees and daily show their disdain toward them. The CEO routinely says such phrases as "I will give you back x minutes" then continues to babble about things the employees don't care about. The CEO is a bully who doesn't respect employees.

How would you improve Southwest Care's culture?

Complete change of c-suite, ensuring that all c-suite employees work in each clinic every week, interacting with the line employees. Never being lectured about how maintaining our insurance each years is basically a raise and we should be happy.

How did you prepare for the Southwest Care interview?

No prep, simply attended the interview and performed in professional manner.

How does your compensation at Southwest Care compare to the industry average?

Compensation is below average for providers. The CEO continues to gaslight providers to believe that they are paid national average. Other line employees are paid a little above entry level for the metro area, but cost of living is far higher in Santa Fe.

What's the diversity at Southwest Care like?

The CEO is a Texas Republican, enough said. For an organization that focuses, in part, on queer patients, they have one queer provider.

What brings you the most joy at Southwest Care?

No pay raises. Pizza parties. A potluck replacing holiday and summer company parties.
