POSITION OVERVIEW
The counselor will provide assessment, counseling, advocacy, and referral services to child witnesses of gender-based violence and survivors of teen dating violence. They will work with the clinical team to provide holistic, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered clinical services. They will utilize a trauma-informed approach to promote clients' rights and provide services in a manner that emphasizes safety, respect, and dignity. They will provide strength-based guidance and work to resolve the impact of gender-based violence in their young lives. They will also provide information and outreach to the community. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social justice and work collaboratively with the clinical team. Counselor will be working from NYC Family Justice Center, Bronx, NY.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete clinical assessments and treatment plans for children and teens referred for counseling;
Provide mental health services for children and teens (from 0-21 years old) including short term individual counseling and crisis intervention with individuals and their families;
Collaborate with staff at other Sanctuary for Families sites and Bronx Family Justice Center Partner agencies to provide holistic services;
Advocate for and assist families/individuals in the negotiation of service delivery system to ensure receipt of appropriate clinical and related services;
Demonstrate competence in evidence-based modalities such as CPP (Child Parent Psychotherapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy);
Develop effective relationships with children and families;
Liaise effectively with other professionals in and out of the Bronx Family Justice Center and DA's office in order to meet the needs of the clients;
Facilitate appropriate clinical groups for clients, including, but not limited to, parenting skills groups;
Participate in team and agency meetings, individual supervisory meetings, case conferences and other meetings as requested;
Complete all appropriate paperwork, including case notes and reports, in a timely manner;
Assist with children's room coverage to support team in providing services to families seeking services;
Conduct outreach and training related to gender based and domestic violence;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor;
Provide support and supervision to MSW interns as needed.
LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or similar degree.
A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience with victims of domestic violence, including work with children;
Experience providing counseling and supportive services to domestic violence survivors and their families;
Experience facilitating support groups and dynamic community workshops;
Ability to work flexible hours, a mix of hybrid and remote work;
Ability to work two late evenings (up to and including 7:30 PM) a week and to maintain a flexible work schedule
Interest in working with clients from diverse backgrounds;
Computer literate in Microsoft applications required;
Familiarity with virtual telehealth platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Budgeted Salary: $68,429 - $75,588 per year; based on experience pursuant to wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreement

Case Managers serve as advocates for Fraser clients, helping them access resources and services within the community. Caseloads:
CADI/BI Waiver Case Managers: Provide client-centered services to individuals receiving CADI/BI waiver support. Caseloads average about 35 clients (primarily adults, with some children). Case Managers meet with clients 2-3 times per year.
DD Waiver & Non-Waiver Case Managers: Provide client-centered services to individuals receiving DD services. Caseloads average about 43 clients (a mix of children and adults). Case Managers meet with clients 2-3 times per year.
Requirements:
DD Case Managers must have one of the following:
A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, Nursing, Human Services, or another field related to the education or treatment of persons with developmental disabilities or related conditions. If degree is in Social Work, Social Work licensure is required.
One year of experience in the education or treatment of persons with developmental disabilities or related conditions (QDDP qualified).
Completion of at least one course specifically focused on developmental disabilities (Fraser can provide this course free of charge).
Valid Minnesota Driver's License with acceptable record.
Ability to pass a DHS background study.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The case manager position is designed to assist person served in identifying and acquiring both natural and paid supports which allow them to live as independently as possible in the community. The case manager should assist the individual in a person centered approach, in a way which supports the person in making his/her own choices and decisions about these supports. The case manager should function as an educator and a resource as well as service coordinator. Life decisions should be made by the individual and/or guardian.
The case manager will focus on coordinating services for vulnerable individuals and assisting them to navigate the complex service delivery system. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Determines clients' needs by conducting initial assessments.
Provides appropriate referrals as necessary.
Prepares DAP notes.
Prepares and maintains confidential case records.
Enters client data/notes, and information into an electronic database/portal.
Collaborates and consults with service providers and community partners on resource-related issues.
Assists clients with securing appropriate resources for mental health services and treatment, if needed, and substance use management by connecting them with community partners.
Supports the client in obtaining important identifying documents, i.e., birth certificate, driver's license, etc.
Assists clients with basic money management and other independent living skills training and assistance.
Assists clients with housing opportunities.
Provides client status updates and discharge information.
Transport clients as needed and required to ensure clients' success in Heading Homes programs.
Participates in case staffing.
Other duties as assigned for optimal client support.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
One (1) year of direct service or Case Management experience is required.
Specialized training in client engagement, motivational interviewing, conflict resolution, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care is preferred.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to foster client relationships.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
Must be able to meet deadlines; therefore, good time management skills are essential.
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Prior work experience with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
Excellent computer and keyboarding skills.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal skills across a broad range of professional situations.
Other Requirements
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to navigate stairs, ladders, ramps, and uneven terrain.
Must become CPR/First Aid trained within 90 days of hire.

Case Manager - Day Center, Spanish Speaking DWC is seeking a full-time Case Manager - Day Center, Spanish Speaking to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed care to unaccompanied women and women with children experiencing homelessness. The Case Manager - Day Center delivers services with a trauma-informed approach and is a patient supporter who actively listens and maintains appropriate boundaries. This position connects clients with services and resources, serves as an advocate and collaborates across departments to meet the immediate and long-term needs of each woman. The Case Manager- Day Center is a member of the Clinical Department and reports directly to the Supervisor- Day Center Case Management Programs. Essential Functions
Advanced oral and written fluency in Spanish required: Must be able to meaningfully engage with monolingual Spanish-speaking participants, including explaining services, completing documentation, and interpreting relevant materials (e.g., health or housing-related paperwork) in Spanish.
Provide trauma-informed case management services to women experiencing homelessness
Create Housing Service Plans with clients that address their needs and goals
Identify and provide linkage to needed resources (basic needs, health & mental health, benefits, housing, legal & vocational support, etc.) with a focus on identifying interim and permanent housing opportunities
Assist clients in becoming document-ready for permanent housing opportunities
Work to effectively meet clients' needs and resolve individual barriers through follow-up, advocacy, and collaboration with DWC staff and other community service providers.
Serve as an advocate and liaison for clients in accessing local resources; role requires comfort with walking the perimeter of the Skid Row neighborhood.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, staff and local service providers
Provide effective crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation, including risk assessment, safety planning and follow-up interventions as needed
Enroll women in the Clarity/Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database and conduct the Coordinated Entry System (CES) survey as needed
In accordance with DWC's documentation policy and contract requirements, maintain accurate and timely records of all services provided to clients in the Clarity/HMIS database, including intake paperwork, LAHSA-required forms and progress notes
Enroll women who have experienced trauma related to sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking crimes in DWC's Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) program.
Participate in individual and group supervision, multidisciplinary team meetings, and required trainings
Track outcomes and monitor progress towards program goals
Serve as an ambassador of DWC and its mission and values by participating in community meetings/events
Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations around confidentiality and mandated-reporting
Provide regular, timely written reports to supervisor as assigned
