Lead Engineer range: $138,000 - $151,000 Sr. Engineer II Range: $125,000 - $137,000 Sr. Engineer Range: $108,000 - $123,000 Engineer II Pay Range: $88,000 - $99,000 Engineer I Pay Range: $80,000 - $87,000 OVERVIEW: Operational Planning Engineers are tasked with performing analysis for the SPP footprint within the Operational Planning horizon to ensure that appropriate operating plans and mitigations are in place to support reliable real-time system operations. To accomplish this, the engineer is tasked with developing forward looking models utilizing data from several sources, evaluating the models for any potential concerns, and mitigating any concerns using market congestion management tools, the development of operating guides, rescheduling/denial of outage requests, or other appropriate actions. This position interacts with multiple internal and external parties to communicate study results, develop operating guides, and coordinate outages. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Build/develop powerflow models which utilized projected generation, topology, and load patterns for the timeframe of study Perform analysis on the developed models to identify any potential SOL or IROL exceedances Develop Operating Plans to resolve potential SOL or IROL exceedances. This may include the use of market flowgates, the establishment of an operating guide, rescheduling/denial of planned outages, or other appropriate actions. Communicate Operating Plans with SPP Reliability Coordinators, SPP Shift Engineers, and impacted entities Approve planned outages which can be accomplished without compromising the integrity of the Bulk Electric System Serve as subject matter expert for assigned area and tools Develop or maintain process documents associated with required tasks Provide on-call support on a rotating basis Ensure compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures, NERC standards, and FERC requirements Perform projects as assigned. These projects typically center around process enhancements, data collection, or stakeholder relations, but vary as need arises. Provide on-the-job training for newer staff members. Complete studies and project work with the direction of more senior staff members QUALIFICATIONS: Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, this degree should: Be from a university that meets the requirements to sit for the Professional Engineering exam (in Arkansas, that is most typically a degree from an ABET accredited university or a graduate degree from a college that has an ABET accreditation), Degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field and preferred degree programs are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering Experience Requirements: Engineer I: No experience required Engineer II: Two (2) Years job related work experience Senior Engineer: Five (5) Years job related work experience Senior Engineer II: Nine (9) Years job related work experience Lead Engineer: Twelve (12) years of job-related work experience Professional Engineer License or Advanced degree in related field may satisfy one (1) year of experience requirement. Assemble, install, maintain, remove and competently inspect overhead, and underground facilities including conductors, cables, transformers, fixtures, structures and other associated equipment under immediate or general supervision as skill level dictates. After completion of C-100, or equivalent experience, shall be competent to perform work on conductors and equipment energized up to 260 volts under general supervision. Assist with work on conductors and equipment energized at secondary voltages to 600 volts under immediate supervision of higher classification. After completion of C100, or equivalent experience, test, de-energize and ground URD cable, Splice and terminate URD cable, and troubleshoot, repair and energize URD cable and equipment under immediate or general supervision as skill level dictates. After completion of C-200, or equivalent experience, shall be capable of working on conductors and equipment energized up to 600 volts under general supervision. Install and maintain multiple street light circuits. f. Install three-phase transformer banks on poles, aerial or ground-mounted platforms. g. Install three-phase regulator banks and energize or remove them from service, Install, maintain, operate and remove capacitor banks from service. 2. Connect, check phase rotation, parallel and check voltage on single and three-phase transformer installations. 3. Locate and correct faults and hazardous conditions on lines and/or equipment. 4. Perform similar or less skilled work. 5. Prepare, conduct and facilitate safety meetings. 6. Direct the work of employees assigned to assist. 7. Adheres to all health, safety, and compliance requirements in accordance with federal and state regulations. **Primary Duties/responsibilities:** + Troubleshoot and repair existing problems by utilizing a variety of electrical testers/devices to determine possible causes for problem situations. + Dismantle a variety of electrical devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and reassemble and test for optimum performance. + Repair and/or replace functional parts of control instruments and ability to interpret instructions and diagrams in correcting existing problems. + Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed and forwards logs along with findings to immediate supervisor. + Assist with equipment failure analysis. + Set up and check preventive equipment such as emergency generators, cathodic protection, change desiccant in water's air system, waste feed cut off testing, analyzer gas equipment, etc. to insure that safety measures are maintained within the facility. + On an as-needed basis, order needed parts and machinery and keep adequate inventories to meet scheduled on-going electrical/instrumentation maintenance programs. + Other work related duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Education / Experience / Background:** + High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required + Associate's degree with an emphasis in Electrical/Mechanical skills preferred + Prior work experience of 2 years in a related position preferred **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:** + Strong team player + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills + Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines + Strong customer orientation **Required Certification / Licenses / Training:** + 24-hour HAZWOPER Certification **Additional Information** **Benefits:** Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more. Preserve order: Responsible for providing security presence in the courtroom, enforcing federal law and judicial orders within the courtroom, enforcing local court rules regarding prohibited items, and providing protection to court proceedings as circumstances dictate. **Requirements** Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.); all three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years. The experience must have included general arrest authority. Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must possess the ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years; Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice. Must have completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof.
