Overview:
The Construction Inspector is responsible for the monitoring, inspections, and reporting of quality and performance of capital improvement projects. This position reports to Director(s) of Engineering and serves as a primary support role for Project Managers. The position has a heavy focus on water and wastewater infrastructure construction including facilities, water distribution, sewer collection systems, and their respective sub trades.
Perform project communication and project coordination, perform public works inspections, ensure quality control of materials and methods, maintain construction records and perform reporting, and manage construction contracts. This position's experience and knowledge of the primary responsibilities will be advanced and the Inspector III will work independently.
What You'll Do:
* Reads and interprets construction contracts, drawings, specifications and other project related documentation to effectively inspect, observe and report on contractor activities and to verify that the work is compliant; informs contractors and/or applicable managers of any deviations in compliance with contract documents or failure to rectify work.
* Maintains accurate, up-to-date and factual daily log describing the activities and the work of the General Construction Contractor and/or their subcontractor, including conversations (phone calls, in person, etc.); prepares and submits related daily reports.
