Overview
The FieldTechnician I performs routine checks of water and/or wastewater treatment systems; responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules/regulations. Assist in all areas of operations, maintenance, and customer service as needed for all facility systems within the company. Certifications required for the job must be obtained within the specified period of time.

This position will be willing and able to perform the following duties and others as assigned:
Operates and maintains the water/wastewater treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines;
Performs daily analyses of effluent samples; makes necessary adjustments to keep facility within permit limits; Makes operational adjustments as needed to comply with state and federal water quality standards
Adjusts chemical treatment to ensure water quality standards are met.
Assists with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed.
Inspect and maintains pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
Respond to and investigate customer service calls. Complete customer service work orders, updates and maintains activity with required documentation and closes work orders in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Performs routine tests on water treatment facilities including tests related to treatment process, chemicals, pumps, motors, and routine water quality sampling. Collect and analyze appropriate readings of gauges and meters;
Conducts routine testing, monitoring and maintenance of production wells, water/wastewater unit processes and basic laboratory analyses.
Performs and documents treatment process and maintenance of treatment facility equipment.
Documents plant performance including daily flow, well meter readings and chemical dosage and usage.
Other duties assigned.

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with experience in the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of large industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will coordinate closely with Design Engineering and Product Management to drive continuous improvements based on field data, installation feedback, and operational findings. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, data management skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong Customer support mentality and represent the company in front of the Customer.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responds to Customer service calls and determine necessary corrective action
· Commission and operate complex process systems, and train Customers on operation, during Start-up
· Perform mechanical, electrical and controls inspections at Customer sites to identify deficiencies
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and controls systems as needed
· Conduct liquid, gas and solids sampling as necessary to certify equipment
· Maintain and manage engineering change documents, configuration controls documents, and other technical information required to match as built documentation
· Prepares, edits, and proofreads inspection and commissioning reports
· Conduct inspections on fabrications and assemblies at vendor facilities including but not limited to; welding, non-destructive examination (NDE) and inspection test plan (ITP) procedure review
· Support Product Engineering and Product Development through continuous improvement initiatives
Employment Requirements:
· BS in Engineering from an accredited university plus 5+ years of experience or 10+ years of significant experience
· Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
· Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a group setting
· Available for on-call support, during start-up or commissioning
· Ability to write technical reports and document performance measurements
· Ability to work and interact with Customers and vendors
· Ability to work in loud environments
· Skilled in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

Purpose of position:

Coordinate with Survey Personnel for Dam-Related Data Surveys
Work with Operations anode team on CP installation, testing and troubleshooting
Work with Operations dam and levee personnel on instrumentation issues, testing, and troubleshooting
Work with IPL construction team, inspectors and design teams on construction practices and testing
Work with coatings team on methods and testing
Document means and methods, including for data management functions
File and organize records within the department, including writing memos, documenting photos and documenting observations and as-built drawings to reflect current conditions
Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service
Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
Perform other duties as required
Required Experience:
Three (3) years related experience
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Experience:
Pipeline corrosion protection related experience
Confined space training
Background in troubleshooting equipment/instrument issues

Overview
Our Utilities Inc. of GA division has an opportunity for a Field Tech I. Responsible for the accurate and timely reading and recording of water meters to facilitate customer billing; to identify water meter equipment problems; and to perform minor water meter and/or system maintenance.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will travel between service areas near Birmingham, AL. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required. Must be available to work shift work; weekend scheduling may be required.
What You'll Do
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Document customer interaction and Field Activities in CC&B.
Act as liaison between the customers and customer service personnel for problem/complaint resolution.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding meter reading schedule, billing, how meters are read and other customer service related matters.
Provide on-site customer communication.
Assist with maintaining mechanical, electrical and piping systems for area water/wastewater facilities, collections and distribution systems.
Constant, independent travel daily between worksites on Company time.
Must work On-Call in rotation as scheduled; responds to emergency situations as required.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform minor meter maintenance and repair duties
May walk 5 - 10 miles per day over established route, reading between 200 and 1200 meters per day and records volume used by residential and commercial customers.
Determine consistency of meter readings; reports unusual cases of water usage to supervisor.
Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage and unauthorized connections; ensures meters are registering properly. Indicate irregularities on forms for necessary action by servicing department.
Turn off service for nonpayment of charges in vacant premises, or on for new occupants.
Assist with ordering parts and job costing.
Assist with the installation and disconnection of water meters and sewer services.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Overview
The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a FieldTechnician I. Responsible for maintaining and cleaning water/wastewater systems; identifying water meter equipment problems; and performing water meter and/or system maintenance activities.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will travel between service areas near Cleveland, GA. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required. Must be available to work shift work; weekend scheduling may be required.
What You'll Bring
Experience
* Requires at least 2 years of mechanical work experience
Education and Certification
* High school Diploma or GED
* Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Nice to Have
* Water meter reading experience preferred
* May be in process of obtaining Distribution and/or Collections Systems certificate or first-level plant operating license.
Physical and Technical Skills
* Ability to frequently perform moderate to heavy physical demands, including lifting (75 lbs.), walking (10+ miles daily), climbing and mechanical repair.
* Ability to read meters, charts and gauges and accurately maintain records of plant operations.
* Ability to read and comprehend written technical information and to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize and/or analyze data.
* Ability to perform mathematical equations to determine chemical doses required for flow rates and proper treatment.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers and regulatory agencies.
* Familiarity with computer applications MS Word, Excel and utilizing tablet and mobile device; ability to learn internal software programs Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
