Primary Purpose To assist economically and educationally disadvantaged youth to achieve school success, graduate from high school, and enroll in post-secondary education. To contribute to the accomplishment of TRIO pre-college project objectives. This position will be in the Educational Talent Search Program serving students at various Coos County Middle Schools
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON GRANT FUNDING AND IS FUNDED THROUGH 6/30/2026
Description of Essential Functions
Outreach (50% of Time)
* Travel to targeted schools to establish and maintain positive liaison with administration, faculty, and staff.
* Travel to targeted schools to recruit participants, implement activities and provide services (as delineated in the grant) that will enhance school success, increase retention and graduation rates, and facilitate post-secondary enrollment and completion. This includes development and implementation of after school/summer academy curriculum and lesson plans.
* Identify appropriate program participants and obtain required information to document their eligibility for participation.
* Maintain positive liaison with administration, faculty, and staff at target schools.
* Provide classroom presentations to recruit students.
* Individual, small group and large group contacts with students and parents.
* Make connections with community partners.
* Accompany participants on field trips to sights of career and cultural interest.
* Travel to college campuses for student visitations.
* Make home visits as needed.
* Provide cultural enrichment activities.
Program Support (25% of Time)
* Develop promotional materials for activities and events. Facilitate or contribute to newsletters as directed.
* Maintain current working knowledge of Federal regulations and legislation as they pertain to the program.
* Assess and evaluate participant needs and outcomes as well as program eligibility.
* Work under the direction of the Educational Talent Search/Upward Bound project director to implement program priorities and achieve project goals.
Record Keeping (25% of Time)
* Complete a needs assessment for each participant in cooperation with school counselors and faculty, parents, and the student.
* Recruit, supervise and schedule tutors as needed.
* Maintain records of all services and activities for each participant assigned.
* Track regular contacts with students.
* Work with confidential databases.
* Maintain timelines and deadlines.
* Manage funds; grant writing and fundraising activities.
Performs Other Duties and Special Projects as Required/Assigned
* Serve on various committees.
* Attend meetings and training sessions as directed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a comparable field is required. Extensive (5 years or more) work experience in similar programs and current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
* A minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing direct support services to economically and/or educationally disadvantaged youth.
* Verifiable experience in needs assessment, verification of eligibility for services, and accurate, detailed, continual record keeping is highly desired.

Primary Purpose PURPOSE To promote the safety and well-being of the College community, utilizing established College policies and procedures while working in accordance with the Oregon DPSST Private Security Professional standards. Campus Safety provides patrol services on campus to ensure the safety and security of staff, students, and the public. Observes, reports, and safely intervenes, when appropriate, and reports criminal or illegal acts to outside partner agencies. Responds and takes appropriate action in the event of a fire or medical emergency and reports to outside partner agencies.

Description of Essential Functions
Campus Patrol (85% of Time)
* Patrol using a motorized vehicle or on foot and inspect campus buildings, grounds, Student Housing, and property for the prevention of theft, fire, vandalism, and personal injury. Assume responsibility for providing security to students, staff, and the general public on campus.
* Provide information and assistance to students, staff, and the general public. Deliver emergency messages to students and staff as needed.
* While patrolling campus buildings and grounds, survey and note unsafe conditions, taking discretionary measures when necessary.
* Conduct targeted patrols in response to specific requests for possible prevention of workplace violence. Conduct loss prevention patrols and notifications to individuals on campus for asset protection. Assist in threat management identification, response and de-escalation as necessary.
* Patrol college roads and parking areas and warn violators creating hazards by disobeying college traffic and parking regulations. Contact towing agencies when necessary to maintain fire lanes and parking areas, or other situations creating a hazard to other motorists on campus property.
* Establishes and maintains positive relationships with staff, students, and the public. At all times, conduct self in a courteous and professional manner, strictly adhering to college policies and procedures. Model and support a community oriented policing model.
* Unlock buildings and gates as requested by authorized personnel. Ensure that buildings are secured upon departure of authorized personnel.
* Provide assistance during emergencies such as medical, bomb threats, and fire; gives emergency first aid which may include CPR and use of an AED; determines if an ambulance or other medical assistance is needed and calls appropriate agency for assistance.
Policy Enforcement (10% of Time)
* Enforce the Student Conduct Code, College Safety and Security Policies and Procedures, and Student Housing Conduct Code in a proactive manner that educates staff, students, and the public on such policies and procedures.
* Report violations of Student Conduct Code, College Safety and Security Policies, and Student Housing Conduct Code, unsafe conditions and illegal criminal acts to lead on duty and/or police agencies as appropriate.
* Contact and cooperate with police and/or emergency service agencies in matters relating to the apprehension of offenders and the investigation of offenses as necessary. May conduct interviews and investigations concerning complaints, accidents, violations of student conduct code or calls for assistance to record information on thefts, physical violence, and other incidents and advises individuals on how to proceed.
* Warn persons trespassing or violating college policies and established procedures.
General Duties/Recordkeeping (5% of Time)
* May be asked to provide money drop service, assist in department closures, and escorts individuals to their vehicles upon request.
* Accurately complete patrol notebook, daily activity log and prepare handwritten or computer-generated reports for incidents occurring on campus.
* Follow safety procedures, follow all building codes and maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
* Collect and process lost and found items.

* Provides excellent internal and external customer service and respectfully engages with all patrons and staff at the aquatic center.
* Ensures pools, decks, changing areas, and staff areas of the aquatic center are kept clean and orderly.
* Completes required forms and documentation of day-to-day functions and safety checks within the aquatic center.
* Completes chemical checks of pool water. Assists with other basic maintenance tasks as needed.
* Attends required in-service trainings.
Additional Duties
* Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must be at least 16 years of age
* American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must be maintained throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working at an aquatic facility
* Experience as an aquatic athlete
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with participants, parents, staff and supervisor(s)
* Ability to react quickly and effectively in emergencies and activates the facility's Emergency Action Plan
* Knowledge of and ability to understand water safety best practices at a commercial facility, including the role and duties of a professional lifeguard
* Ability to maintain full and complete attention to patron surveillance while on duty
* Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes, and swim 20 yards to retrieve a 10-pound object off the bottom of the largest pools at any time; must have sufficient physical fitness and swimming ability to reach a patron within 30 seconds within the zone of coverage, which may be over 30 yards from guard station; must be able to deliver emergency equipment poolside (automated external defibrillator, bag-vale masks, backboard) within 30 seconds of emergency notification; must be able to move equipment reels on deck and move equipment into and out of the pools.
Environment
Works variable schedule and exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Work may be performed in an office and recreation facility. Work may be performed in an outdoor or indoor facility during variable weather conditions.
Salary Placement
Initial salary placement will be within the posted range or pay rate of the position, and is based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
